On the occasion of World Autism Awareness Day today, Manasa organized a seminar on
“Early Identification and Intervention in Autism: Changing Life Trajectories”
Dr. T. Krishna Murthy, Brain and Spine Surgeon highlighted that children with autism experience the world differently due to unique sensory processing. He stressed the importance of early identification by parents, timely diagnosis by pediatricians, and intervention by special educators, along with active parental involvement in therapy.
Dr. A. Vishnu Priya, Developmental Pediatrician shared a powerful message:
“If a child cannot learn the way we teach, we must teach the way the child learns.”
She emphasized inclusive and sensory-friendly schools, and reminded us that children with autism have abilities in learning, play, fitness, relationships, and participation.
Mr. R. Brijanand Reddy spoke about the right to inclusive education, sharing how peer support in schools like Kendriya Vidyalaya helps children with autism thrive. He emphasized that inclusion, not isolation, is the way forward.
Key Takeaway:
➡️ From Awareness to Action
➡️ Early intervention can transform lives
The event saw participation from parents, educators, therapists, and well-wishers—coming together for a more inclusive future.
