The project Sulabh - Aahar aims to support lower-income communities, especially Daily wagers, Rickshaw Pullers, Thella Pullers, Cobblers, Reg pickers, etc, in the city by offering low-cost lunch to a large section of the society. It has been observed that the low-income group person often finds it difficult to arrange 2 meals per day for his/her family, especially after the pandemic. Also, the meal they intake is not rich in nutrients. Through this project, we will be catering to these issues by proving affordable and nutritious meals to them.

Sulabh-Aahar is expected to provide affordable and nutritious meals to a wide section of society as well as support sustainable livelihood by providing employment to women of underprivileged communities. As decided, the significant contribution of the project by Goonj for the initial 6 months.



Waste Management of Sulabh – Aahar:



The Organic waste from the kitchen will be composted on the premises of the Service unit and the compost can be used to set up a kitchen garden on the premises for vegetables like chilly, lemon, leafy vegetables, etc. In case of any excess cooked food is left, it will be distributed among the poor and the destitute free of cost.

On 30th August 2022 Under the project of GYAN KI ROSHNI supported by CASIO , Facilitated by GLOBAL Hunt Foundation & Implemented by CRD , we hand over five projectors to the listed ITIs of Assam namely 1. Dhemaji, 2. Rangiya, 3. Bongaigaon, 4. Biswanath Chariali and 5. Pathsala in a ceremonial function held in the conference hall at the Janata Bhawan, Dispur.
From the Government side Shri Jayanta Malla Baruah, Hon’ble Minister of Public Health Engineering, Tourism, Skill, Employment and Entrepreneurship, Government of Assam received the projectors from Dr. Pradip Kumar Sarmah, Executive Director, Centre for Rural Development in the presence of Shri B Kalyan Chakravarthy, IAS, Principal Secretary, Labour Welfare & Skill Employment and Entrepreneurship, Government of Assam and Ms. Kasturi Bharali, Director, Employment and Craftsman Training along with Ms. Mousumi Sen Joint Director, Employment and Craftsman Training
