Workshops in different public places of Pakistan and India
Project Overview:
We all know about the craze of Bollywood movies in Pakistan. And in last couple of years we have noticed a great bounce back of Pakistani dramas on Indian television. Hence we feel this is the perfect time to use these televisionaries in bridging the gap between these two countries. Creation of short films is a new and
an emerging trend among the youths of both nations. But so far they both have no mediums to get their films screened and watched in their neighbor country. In the indopak films festival short films of both nations will get screened in their neighbor countries. The Indian short-films will be screened in Pakistan with the collaboration of U.S Consulate General Karachi. And short films of Pakistan will get screened in India with the collaboration of Shamiana which is Asia's largest short film club. Before the film festival we will conduct workshops in different colleges, universities and in different public places of Pakistan and India to connect people of both nations through different activities. The Aligarh Muslim University India is willing to socially support and back this project in India. Students of AMU volunteer for social cause, they run several NGOs for the betterment of the society. Their most active NGO, SOCH-beyond the imagination will conduct the workshops in different public places of India. Project Justification:
This project will create opportunities for engagement between the people of Pakistan and India by making them believe what unites them is stronger than what sets them apart. It will support and develop new voices (short filmmakers, actors) by providing them opportunities they are waiting for. Project Goals and Objectives:
1.Bringing the people of India and Pakistan closer through the film festival, different activities and workshops
2.Providing opportunities to short filmmakers to get their films watched in neighbor country
