What happens when a country of the size of India has over 3 million children living on the streets? In fact, it sounds like an ominous prophecy. Right now!

An NGO composed of some highly motivated and spirited individuals , working together for the betterment and upliftment of the underprivileged and for the welfare of the society. Or has over 150 million children working as bonded labourers? Or one out of every six girl child does not live to see her 15th birthday? What happens when despite having a national policy for compulsory primary education, only 50% of children have access to education? The statement "Children are the future of the nation" stops making sense, then! For how can we explain that even after 60 years of independence, half of India's children are illiterate? Despite identifying primary education as a key thrust area and possessing one of the largest networks of schools in the world? Clearly, we have a lot to answer for. And as concerned citizens do something about it; something meaningful, something concrete, something urgently. No more do we have the luxury of blaming the system or postponing our actions. The time to take collective as well as individual responsibility to remedy the present situation is here. And also we need many more UDDESHHYA to cater to the vast (increasing) number of children in our country's population.

Today, Team Uddeshhya celebrates its 17th Foundation Day with immense pride and gratitude. Since October 4, 2010, our journey has been driven by a simple yet powerful mission i.e. to bring hope, education, opportunities, and meaningful change to the community.

Over the years, every initiative, every challenge overcome, and every life touched has been made possible through the dedication, unity, and compassion of our team members, mentors, and volunteers. ✨

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Prof. (Dr.) Pratibha Kumari Ma’am and all faculty members and volunteers for their constant guidance, support, and dedication to Uddeshhya’s journey. 💙

स्वास्थ्य की ओर एक कदम, समाज की ओर एक नई पहल।

On 8 September 2026, Team Uddeshhya organised a Health Camp in the Ravli Slum Area to address the basic healthcare needs of the local community.

The camp provided health check-ups and essential medicines, making healthcare more accessible to those in need.

A heartfelt appreciation to the doctors, volunteers, and mentors for making this initiative meaningful.

Together, let us build a healthier and stronger society.

🇮🇳 “स्वतंत्रता केवल अधिकार नहीं, वीरों के बलिदान की अमूल्य विरासत है।”

On 15th August 2026, Team Uddeshhya celebrated Independence Day with great enthusiasm. The celebration began with flag hoisting at a government school, followed by student dance performances, cultural programs, and an act portraying the struggles of our freedom fighters.

We also celebrated with our slum community by distributing laddus and sharing the importance of Independence Day, along with our Evening School students.

A beautiful celebration of freedom, unity, patriotism, and togetherness.
