A fruitful convergence meeting was held on 07.05.2026 at Palayam and Katrimala villages, where Dr. Athikulla, Senior Scientist from ICAR-IIHR, Bengaluru, interacted with sweet orange farmers and provided practical guidance on crop health, water and soil testing, micronutrient application, plant boosters, and beneficial microbial use for better productivity under drought conditions. During the field visit, technical suggestions were shared based on crop observations, and agricultural inputs including Arka Neem Soap and microbial products were distributed to 50 farmers. The programme was highly interactive and beneficial, helping farmers address field-level challenges in sweet orange cultivation through scientific and sustainable practices.

A successful monitoring visit was conducted under the Rayalaseema Water Initiative (RWI) across Kesapuram, Katrimala, Koppalakonda, Sirivaram, and Kanampalli villages by Sri Kavala Nelson (APF).

🌱 Key Highlights:
✔️ Water management works like check dams, canals, AWD plots, and recharge structures are improving groundwater and irrigation
✔️ Convergence works (dugout ponds, trenches, canal strengthening) are creating strong impact at field level
✔️ Fallow lands are being converted into productive cultivation areas
✔️ Natural Farming practices are actively adopted by farmers, including women participation
✔️ Trainings on Brahmastram, Jeevamrutham, and Dashaparni Kashayam showing great results

On 21st March 2026, a one-day Natural Farming training programme was successfully conducted in Koppula Konda Village, Garladinne Mandal. Farmers were trained on key practices like seed treatment, mixed cropping, green manure, and eco-friendly crop protection methods.

Following the training, input drums were distributed to farmers at a 50% subsidy, supporting them in adopting natural farming techniques for the upcoming Kharif season.

Farmers from Garladinne Mandal participated in an exposure visit to the one-acre natural farming model plot of farmer Mr. Lakshmana Murthy, where nearly 62 varieties of crops are grown using mixed cropping methods.

During the visit, farmers observed practical natural farming techniques such as reduced tillage, avoiding chemical fertilizers and pesticides, natural pest management, and maintaining soil health through biodiversity. Mr. Lakshmana Murthy shared his experiences and explained the benefits of natural farming, including lower cultivation costs, improved soil fertility, and environmentally sustainable agriculture.

The visit helped farmers gain practical knowledge and inspired them to gradually adopt natural farming practices in their own fields. 🌾🌿

Under the 💧 Rayalaseema Water Initiative (RWI) programme, RIDS successfully conducted Natural Farming Awareness & Demonstration Programmes at:

RiDS organized a field-level awareness programme on Natural Farming Practices with a live demonstration of Dashaparna Kashayam preparation at a farmer’s field.

👨‍🌾 Farmers actively participated in preparing Dashaparna Kashayam using 10 types of natural leaves along with turmeric, garlic, to***co, and cow urine. The mixture was prepared in a 200-litre drum and fermented for 45 days. Step-by-step preparation, dilution ratio (1:10), and proper spraying methods were clearly explained.
