A fruitful convergence meeting was held on 07.05.2026 at Palayam and Katrimala villages, where Dr. Athikulla, Senior Scientist from ICAR-IIHR, Bengaluru, interacted with sweet orange farmers and provided practical guidance on crop health, water and soil testing, micronutrient application, plant boosters, and beneficial microbial use for better productivity under drought conditions. During the field visit, technical suggestions were shared based on crop observations, and agricultural inputs including Arka Neem Soap and microbial products were distributed to 50 farmers. The programme was highly interactive and beneficial, helping farmers address field-level challenges in sweet orange cultivation through scientific and sustainable practices.

A successful monitoring visit was conducted under the Rayalaseema Water Initiative (RWI) across Kesapuram, Katrimala, Koppalakonda, Sirivaram, and Kanampalli villages by Sri Kavala Nelson (APF).

Farmers from Garladinne Mandal participated in an exposure visit to the one-acre natural farming model plot of farmer Mr. Lakshmana Murthy, where nearly 62 varieties of crops are grown using mixed cropping methods.

During the visit, farmers observed practical natural farming techniques such as reduced tillage, avoiding chemical fertilizers and pesticides, natural pest management, and maintaining soil health through biodiversity. Mr. Lakshmana Murthy shared his experiences and explained the benefits of natural farming, including lower cultivation costs, improved soil fertility, and environmentally sustainable agriculture.
