Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha Sikkim unit wishes to inform the public that a formal representation has been submitted to the Election Commission of India and the Union Ministry of Road Transport and Highways regarding pressing issues affecting the State of Sikkim.
The submission has been made by Shri Dibon Lepcha, BJYM District General Secretary, on behalf of BJP Sikkim, in the interest of safeguarding constitutional integrity, administrative accountability, and the welfare of the people of Sikkim.
In the representation addressed to the Election Commission of India, serious concerns have been raised regarding the proposed Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in Sikkim. The memorandum strongly emphasizes that any such exercise must be conducted strictly in accordance with Article 371F of the Constitution of India, which protects the unique historical and demographic identity of the State. The letter highlights the need for transparency, strict verification mechanisms, and constitutional safeguards to ensure that the electoral process remains fair and uncompromised.
Simultaneously, a separate representation has been submitted to the Union Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, drawing attention to ongoing infrastructure challenges, incomplete projects, and the urgent need for stricter monitoring and accountability in road development works across Sikkim. The BJYM Sikkim unit has urged the Ministry to take prompt and decisive action to address these issues in the larger public interest.
BJYM stated that these interventions are guided by a strong sense of responsibility towards the people of Sikkim. BJYM emphasizes that protecting constitutional provisions, ensuring transparent governance, and addressing developmental concerns must remain the top priority.
The BJYM Sikkim unit remains committed to raising the voice of the people and ensuring that both constitutional safeguards and developmental needs of the State are addressed with urgency and seriousness.
