On the occasion of World Earth Day, under the aegis of the INTACH Ferozepur Chapter, DCM Sr. Sec. School, Ferozepur Cantt; DCM International School, Ferozepur City and Dass & Brown World School organized a series of engaging intra-class competitions across various grades.
Grade IV students showcased their creativity through leaf art and nature collage-making activities. Grade V students actively participated in the ‘Trash to Treasure’ activity, demonstrating innovation and environmental awareness. For Grades VI–IX, activities such as declamation, creative writing and extempore were conducted, providing students with a platform to express their ideas and enhance their communication skills.
These activities helped students develop creativity, build confidence, enhance their communication skills and deepen their understanding of environmental conservation and sustainable practices.

On the occasion of World Heritage Day, the members of the INTACH Ferozepur Chapter visited the historic Saragarhi Museum and Memorial, paying homage to one of the most inspiring chapters of military history associated with the region.

The visit turned into an engaging and insightful session as members gathered for a meaningful discussion on the history, significance, and enduring impact of the legendary Battle of Saragarhi. The interaction reflected a deep sense of respect and curiosity among the participants, who explored how the valour and sacrifice of 21 Sikh soldiers continue to inspire generations.

During the discussion, Dr Rameshwar Singh shared several lesser-known yet fascinating insights about the memorial and the battle. He elaborated on the strategic importance of Saragarhi, the unmatched courage displayed by the soldiers, and how the memorial stands today not just as a structure, but as a symbol of bravery, resilience, and national pride.

The members also reflected on the importance of preserving such heritage sites, especially in a historically rich district like Ferozepur, which holds immense cultural and patriotic significance. The visit concluded with a renewed commitment among the members to continue promoting awareness about local heritage and ensuring that stories like Saragarhi remain alive in public memory.

On World Heritage Day, under the aegis of INTACH Ferozepur Chapter, Dass & Brown World School visited the historic Saragarhi Gurudwara—a proud symbol of Ferozepur’s glorious heritage.
The Gurudwara stands as a tribute to the legendary Battle of Saragarhi, where 21 brave soldiers of the 36th Sikh Regiment laid down their lives while fighting against thousands, showcasing unparalleled courage and sacrifice under the leadership of Havildar Ishar Singh.
The visit served as a powerful reminder for students of the values of courage, sacrifice, and patriotism, inspiring them to respect and preserve our rich legacy.
Adding a meaningful dimension to the experience, students actively participated in slogan-making activities focused on cleanliness and heritage conservation under SDG 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities. Through their creative expressions, they spread awareness about the importance of maintaining and protecting our heritage sites, reinforcing their role as responsible citizens committed to a sustainable future.

On the occassion of World Heritage Day, under the aegis of INTACH Ferozepur Chapter, DCM International School visited the historic Gurudwara Shri Jamni Sahib—a cherished part of Ferozepur’s heritage.

Located in Bazidpur, this sacred site is believed to have been visited by Shri Guru Gobind Singh after the Battle of Sri Muktsar Sahib. The revered ‘Jand’ tree and the holy Sarovar add to its spiritual significance, while the serene Gurbani creates an atmosphere of peace and devotion.

The visit served as a valuable learning experience, enabling students to connect with their roots, appreciate local heritage, and understand the importance of preserving such timeless treasures.

DCM Sr. Sec. School (DCMC) and DCM International (DCMI), in collaboration with INTACH, successfully conducted the “Tree of Life” Poster Making and Write-Up Activity with enthusiastic participation from many students.

The activity encouraged young learners to explore indigenous trees such as Neem, Gulmohar, and Banyan, highlighting their ecological, cultural, and historical significance through creative posters and insightful write-ups.

It was a meaningful initiative that enhanced creativity, research aptitude, and environmental awareness, while fostering a deep appreciation for our rich natural heritage.
