Company Overview
At the LAKSH FOUNDATION, we want every child in Mangar village to have access to free, good-quality education. LAKSH SCHOOL currently has o

ne hundred and twenty enrolled students, and this number increases every day. Approximately fifty children are brought to school each day by the Laksh tractor, and the remainder walk from Mangar Village or the neighbouring village of Silakdi. The school is housed in a newly constructed building at Laksh Farms, with four classrooms, a library & computer room, a kitchen and two rooms for our caretakers. We are currently seriously under-funded and depend on our incredible volunteer support teams, who have contributed valuable time and energy to help give LAKSH SCHOOL the formal structure it so desperately needs. We also have an amazing team of dedicated and enthusiastic teachers from Mangar Village, most of whom are students themselves, and who have been vital to the daily administration of our school. THE WOMEN’S CENTRE at Laksh Farms took shape as an initiative to help get the village women out of the stone-crushing quarries where they worked, and into an environment that allowed them to gain and develop sewing and embroidery skills and generate an additional source of income for their families. We produce everything from hand-embroidered bedspreads and quilts to cushion covers, kurtas, dresses and intricately worked boho skirts. The women at the centre currently number between 50 and 60, and what began as a training centre has evolved into a microfinance project where we provide them with sewing machines which they buy from us for low monthly installments. Often, safety issues concerning children, men, and women go unnoticed and unheard. Rural India, in particular, remains largely unaware. This Rakshabandhan, young girls from rural Haryana convey the real meaning and essence of safety, security, and the deeper significance of the festival.

In the first of a four-part series, concerns about safety and the impact created on the ground by Laksh and Mudita are highlighted.

Over the last three years, Laksh, in collaboration with Mudita Foundation, has worked hard to create safety champions, training and empowering young men and women to spread awareness about safety issues concerning young adults and children.

The week has been so wonderful by working with these young people of Laksh Foundation Education Society. Three days workshop with Mudita Foundation on Safety awareness . We have made our own news paper to introduce the safety issues in our own area and then created stories, based on the problems, made puppets to organise a puppetry show in the village to create awareness. Special thanks to team Mudita Foundation,Ila Lumba, Aslam Khan ,Madan Sharma and team LFES.

We have celebrated the new year and the last day of the previous year by distributing sweaters to our students so they can continue their school and protect themselves from the cold.

We have organised sports day , first sports day after the pandemic. Lovely to see all the happy faces especially the kids who hardly get a chance to get out from their village came together from the different villages and participated so eagerly. #

Happy Children's Day!!!
Last year we celebrated the whole week as child safety week but this year we have decided to incorporate with parents to celebrate and understand the child rights, types of abuse , prevention. We have organised a PTM where some older students played roles of Police chowki Incharge,CWC head,and DCPU to explain the role of these organisations in child safety which was very informative.
Special thanks to Mudita Foundation for choosing LFES and community for this very important issue again this year.
