Lions Club of Erode Midtown, sponsored by Lions Club of Erode, was started in the year 1981 with 25 dedicated Lions as Charter Members, Lion N.Muthuswamy as Charter President and Lion S.A.Shanmugam as Charter Secretary. The Club was chartered on 8.02.82. The Club achieved the 200 membership during its Silver Jubilee in the year 2006 – 2007. For the past 30 years the Club has achieved many laurels,

Obtained LCIF grant of Rs. 14, 00, 000/- for the construction of vocational training centre at Jaycees Matriculation School, Erode. Obtained LCIF grant of Rs. 35, 00, 000/- for the construction of Home for the Elderly at Thottanichatram. Sponsored 10 Lions Clubs and 2 Leo Clubs
Formation of Lions Club of Erode Midtown Charitable Trust. Publishes the regular bimonthly magazine Midtown Mail
Conducts regular Lions Quest program in Jaycees Matriculation and Higher Secondary School. Our Charter President PMJF Lion N. Muthuswamy served as the First District Governor of our District 324B2 for the year 1990 – 1991 and as Council Chairperson of Multiple 324B2 during the year 1991 – 1992. During the year 2004 – 2005 President Lion Shanmuga Vadivu Muthuswamy created a new District Multiple World record by achieving 4500 IOL operations. Our Member MJF Lion Purnima Tanna served as the First Lady District Governor for the year 2007 – 2008. The Club consists of 5 PMJFs and 38 MJFs
