अंतरराष्ट्रीय ग्रामीण महिला दिवस के अवसर पर प्रकाशित चर्चा को आगे बढ़ाते हुए, हम “सतत कृषि की नई परिभाषा गढ़ती महिलाए” लेख को पुनः साझा कर रहे हैं। यह लेख डॉ. अरविंद कुमार, अध्यक्ष, इंडिया वाटर फाउंडेशन द्वारा लिखा गया है और कुरुक्षेत्र पत्रिका के अगस्त 2026 अंक (खंड 74, पृष्ठ संख्या 34) में प्रकाशित हुआ है।

यह लेख बताता है कि कैसे ग्रामीण महिलाएँ स्वयं सहायता समूहों, जल संरक्षण, जलवायु के अनुकूल खेती, नई तकनीकों और अपने छोटे-बड़े उद्यमों के माध्यम से भारत की कृषि को नई दिशा दे रही हैं। साथ ही, यह किसानों के रूप में महिलाओं की कानूनी पहचान, आर्थिक सहायता, बाजार तक पहुँच और कृषि से जुड़े फैसलों में उनकी भागीदारी को मजबूत करने की जरूरत पर भी जोर देता है।

भले ही यह दिवस बीत चुका है, लेकिन ग्रामीण महिलाओं के योगदान को पहचानने और उन्हें आगे बढ़ने के समान अवसर देने की जरूरत आज भी उतनी ही महत्वपूर्ण है। महिला किसानों को सशक्त बनाना खाद्य सुरक्षा, जलवायु संरक्षण और विकसित भारत के संकल्प को साकार करने की दिशा में एक महत्वपूर्ण कदम है।

Building on the observance of the 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐃𝐚𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐑𝐮𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐖𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐧 (15 October), we revisit “𝐖𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐧 𝐑𝐞𝐝𝐞𝐟𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐒𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐀𝐠𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞”, 𝐚𝐧 𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐥𝐞 𝐛𝐲 𝐃𝐫. 𝐀𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐝 𝐊𝐮𝐦𝐚𝐫, 𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭, 𝐈𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐚 𝐖𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐅𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧, published in the August 2026 edition (Volume 74) edition, Page No. 34 of 𝐊𝐮𝐫𝐮𝐤𝐬𝐡𝐞𝐭𝐫𝐚 𝐦𝐚𝐠𝐚𝐳𝐢𝐧𝐞.
The article examines how rural women are reshaping India’s agricultural landscape through Self-Help Groups, climate-smart farming, water conservation, technological innovation and women-led enterprises. It also underscores the need for legal recognition, access to institutional finance, market linkages and greater participation in agricultural decision-making.

While the occasion has passed, the imperative remains constant: recognizing women as farmers, entrepreneurs and decision-makers is essential to strengthening food security, advancing climate resilience and realising the vision of Viksit Bharat.
