Sundarban Social Development Centre -SSDC Also known as Sundarand Eye Hospital, Lakshmikantapur. The organization has state-of-the-art Eye Hospital named Sundarban Eye Hospital.

Sundarban Social Development Centre (SSDC) is a community based organization and since the year 1989 working in different blocks of Sundarban region at the remote places for the Socio Economic Development of poorest of the poor people. Specially, women, children and youth on Child Rights, Child Protection, Eye Care, Women & Child Nutrition, Disaster Preparedness, Emergency Relief, Drinking Water,

Sanitation, Hygiene Education & Environmental Health with special focus on mother and child. Sundarban Social Development Centre (SSDC) went ahead and took HealthCare leadership in Mother & Childcare Initiative with practice of Immunization, Nutrition and General Hygiene. SSDC has organized Mother and Child health care Programmes since January 2011. The project aims at improving Nutrition for Children and Safe Motherhood for Pregnant Mothers through a Special Nutrition Unit (SNU), situated within the premises of SSDC.
