Bharat Vikas Parishad Dhubri Branch Celebrates International Yoga Day
Today, June 21, 2025, the Bharat Vikas Parishad, Dhubri Branch, in collaboration with Vivekananda Vidyapith High School, celebrated the Eleventh International Yoga Day at the school premises.
For this special day's event, renowned yoga instructors from Dhubri, Shri Shyamal Kanti Ghosh and Smt. Nivedita Ghosh, were present as trainers. Under their expert guidance, students and teachers practiced various yoga postures.
The program began auspiciously, following the tradition of Bharat Vikas Parishad. First, floral tributes were offered to the portraits of Bharat Mata and Swami Vivekananda, and the day's proceedings commenced with the singing of "Vande Mataram," a sacred ritual for such events.
Following this, Smt. Keteki Lahiri, former principal of Dhubri Government Higher Secondary School and a respected member of Bharat Vikas Parishad, addressed everyone about the Bharat Vikas Parishad. In her speech, she highlighted the importance of Yoga Day and the utility of yoga in daily life.
The two instructors, Shri Shyamal Kanti Ghosh and Smt. Nivedita Ghosh, not only taught the participants the correct methods of yoga postures but also discussed in detail the health benefits of yoga and its role in achieving mental peace. They explained in an easy-to-understand manner how yoga helps maintain our physical and mental well-being.
Towards the end of the event, Shri Asim Bhattacharya, President of Vivekananda Vidyapith High School, delivered a valuable speech, followed vote of thanks by another member. After his vote of thanks, light refreshments were distributed among the students, which was a delightful break for them after the day's arrangements.
Through this successful event, the Bharat Vikas Parishad Dhubri Branch once again demonstrated its commitment to promoting yoga and increasing health awareness in society. Finally, the program concluded with the rendition of the National Anthem.
