# On 9th January, 2026, at the Atmanirbhar Dhemaji event, a selected group of students from Suvidya School performed a yoga demonstration under the mentorship of WE CAN.
We extend our best wishes to every member who participated in the program, and we also express our gratitude to the Head of Suvidya School, Mrs. Jyoti Rekha Borgohain, along with Mr. Titul Phukan and Mr. Ajay Koch, for their cooperation in making the event a success.

Day Celebrations

Under the initiative of My Bharat Assam, Dhemaji, and in collaboration with cultural organization WE CAN and the NSS unit of Machkhowa College, a series of events were organized to mark the 79th Independence Day of India on 15th August, 2025.

The day’s proceedings began in the morning with the hoisting of the National Flag, followed by the plantation program "Ek Ped, Maa Ke Naam", in which each NSS member and faculty member of the college planted a sapling within the campus. The initiative was formally inaugurated by the Principal of the college, Mr. Gonoraj Yein, who also addressed the gathering.

Subsequently, a commemorative meeting was held in the college auditorium under the chairmanship of Shri Manoj Baruah, Lecturer in the Assamese Department. As part of the celebrations, drawing and patriotic song competitions were conducted among the students, showcasing their creativity and love for the nation.

Distinguished speakers at the event included Dr. Basanta Mangal Dutta, Head of the Economics Department; Shri Ranjit Sharma, President of WE CAN; and Shri Dharani Saikia, Vice-President of WE CAN.

Cultural performances by Shri Jintu Moni Samua, Lecturer in the History Department, and Shri Pratijyoti Borgohain, Lecturer in the Philosophy Department, added further charm and grandeur to the occasion.

The program concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Shri Shiromoni Saikia, NSS Program Officer of Machkhowa College.

# Under the initiative of the Department of Cultural Affairs, Government of Assam, with the support of the Dhemaji District Administration and under the supervision of WE CAN, the concluding ceremony of the Yoga Workshop was successfully held on 25th July, 2025 at Machkhowa Milan Sangha. During the ceremony, a few still photographs were displayed showcasing the yoga performances by the participants of the workshop......
