Santaan Foundation

Santaan Foundation Santaan is an initiative, originated to fight child trafficking in India.

We aim to remove this social menace so that India wakes up to a day full of hope, healthy competition and with zero children begging to fulfill their basic needs. For effective working to the cause, one must understand what is child trafficking, its types and motive. Child trafficking is defined as an act in which any person who is under 18 and is recruited, transported, harboured or received for

the purpose of exploitation, either within or outside of the country. Main types include: sexual exploitation, laundering, organ selling, sale, marriage, forced labor begging. The sole motive is to earn profits
Facts are very disturbing:
• estimated 1.2 million children are trafficked worldwide.
• over 12.7 million children working between the ages of five to eleven years
• every year 44000 children fall into the clutches of the gangs.
• NGO estimate that 12000-15000 women and children are trafficked into the country annually. We have decided to rise against this social menace and to fight for child rights so that they wont fight for their basic needs in life and focus on other important aspects of their lives and make the country well developed.
