On this solemn day, we remember the ultimate sacrifice — a life given in love, so others may live with dignity and hope. At VDFG Kartik Trust, this spirit of selfless service is the foundation of everything we do. From restoring sight to the visually impaired, to empowering women, educating children, and healing communities — every act of giving is our humble tribute to the timeless truth that true strength lies in compassion. As we bow our heads in reverence today, we renew our commitment to serve, to care, and to build a world where no one is left behind.

Holika Dahan, or Chhoti Holi, is a Hindu festival marking the start of Holi celebrations. It signifies good triumphing over evil. Legend has it that a demon king, Hiranyakashipu, tried to kill his son Prahlad, a devotee of Lord Vishnu, with the help of his sister Holika's fire-resistant cloak. However, Prahlad's faith saved him, and Holika perished. Lighting bonfires on Holika Dahan symbolizes burning away inner evils. It's a reminder to focus on spiritual enrichment during festivals, like Prahlad's devotion, and to seek guidance from spiritual teachers for inner illumination.
