Today, on the auspicious occasion of Independence Day, I had the honour of being invited by the small Ladies Yoga Group to the Indian Tricolour.
What made this moment truly special was why they chose to invite me.
There was leader, NO formal designation—just someone who has tried to whenever they needed help.
Over time, this has meant helping with Pension, Ayushman Cards, Ration Cards, Aadhaar and Voter ID updates, raising concerns with DJB and MCD regarding dirty water and sanitation, providing SIR-related guidance, and helping their children navigate school admissions.
And sometimes, there was nothing to solve. They simply needed someone to listen.
Running Mishijal Foundation has taught me that isn't always about doing something extraordinary. Sometimes, it is about doing something small, at exactly the moment someone needs you.
- 3 LESSONS FROM “ ”
1.
Never underestimate a small act of help. What may take you 30 minutes could help someone access healthcare, education, an essential government service or even help them get a job. The size of the task doesn't determine the size of its impact.
2.
Not every problem has an immediate solution. But everyone deserves to be heard. Sometimes, listening gives people something equally valuable—the feeling that someone cares. Important Skills required at all level including HR department.
3.
You don't need a position to make a difference. You don't need power to someone. When you consistently show up for people, they remember. People may forget your position, but they rarely forget how you made them feel when they needed someone.
🇮🇳 Independence Day reminded me: We don't have to change society in one day.
.
one person.
one person.
Roz Ek Kaam, Society Ke Naam. ❤️
A heartfelt thank you to the Ladies Yoga Group for this honour and, more importantly, for trusting me and allowing me to serve whenever needed.
Your trust is my biggest recognition.
🇮🇳 Jai Hind!
