Often called the cultural anthem of Uttarakhand, it paints vibrant images of blooming forests, flowing winds, and a community living in harmony with nature.

Performed by Mansi, a visually impaired student of our Delhi Centre, this soulful rendition of “Ae Maalik Tere Bande Hum” carries the prayerful simplicity and purity that makes this song timeless.

Originally from the 1957 classic Do Aankhen Barah Haath, written by Bharat Vyas and composed by Vasant Desai, the hymn has long been cherished as a universal call for peace, integrity, and kindness.
Its words remind us:

“Ae Maalik, Tere Bande Hum… aise ho hamare karam.”
A prayer that we always choose righteousness, humility, and compassion.

Through her voice, Mansi transforms this melody into a message of strength, grace, and light — a moment that touches the heart far beyond the stage. 💛✨

Phagunero Mohonay (Dance)
“Phagunero Mohonay” is a vibrant Bengali folk-fusion spring song inspired by Phagun — the last month of the Bengali calendar, when spring arrives with Basant Utsav, colours, and celebration.
The title means “In the enchantment of Phagun”, capturing nature’s awakening, love, and colour. Rooted in the Shantiniketan tradition, the piece blends poetry, movement, and melody into a joyful ode to renewal.
Modern versions bring folk rhythm together with contemporary dance, bright costumes, and the hues of gulal — symbolising hope, togetherness, and the promise that life always blooms again.

Jhijhiya – Delhi Centre (Dance)
A sacred folk dance from Mithila, Jhijhiya is performed during Navratri in honour of Kul Devta Bramha Baba, the village guardian who protects communities from evil, drought, and disease.
Women dance in circles carrying earthen pots with lamps inside — the glowing jhijhiya symbolising light over darkness and the power of collective faith.
Folk tradition tells us that Bramha Baba is not the creator-god Brahma, but a Gram Devta — a local protector whose blessings ensure safety and wellbeing.
Through rhythm, prayer, and movement, this performance brings an ancient invocation to life.
Presented by the CKS Foundation – Delhi Centre at our 15th Annual Function. 💛✨
