The "Greening the Market" initiative is a pilot project aimed at reducing the use of single-use plastic in Delhi NCR vegetable markets and promoting sustainable waste management practices. The project seeks to achieve this by organizing and training waste value-chain actors such as waste workers, scrap dealers, and recyclers, and transforming them into waste entrepreneurs and professionals. It also aims to increase awareness among market vendors and customers about the negative impact of single-use plastic on the environment and public health, and to promote the use of sustainable alternatives to plastic.
