World Metrology Day 2026 | Building Trust in Policy Making
Effective regulations are built not only through enforcement, but through collaboration, consultation, and practical implementation. Trust in regulatory systems is strengthened when policy development is transparent, consultative, and implementation-oriented.
On World Metrology Day 2026, IFBA highlights the importance of collaborative policy-making to strengthen Legal Metrology frameworks and boost consumer confidence. Structured industry participation — through consultations, joint working groups, pilot initiatives, and continuous feedback — helps create practical, clear, and effective regulations.
IFBA appreciate the efforts of Department of Legal Metrology in inviting F&B Industry whenever related policy interventions are made to Rules. IFBA has been actively participating to represent member’s position on such policy interventions like Unique Selling Preposition (USP) for declaring two or more prime constituents on FOP, Revision of Schedule II to bring back provision of edible oils etc. IFBA takes pride in conducting webinar on World Metrology Day in association with the Department of Legal Metrology and Members to create awareness around regulatory requirements impacting F&B sector.
Collaborative, evidence-based engagement like this supports harmonized, consumer-friendly regulations and improves clarity and trust for both industry and consumers. IFBA remains committed to constructive engagement that ensures policies are workable, transparent, and focused on consumer protection.
