🌱🚲 PRE-PUJA AWARENESS INITIATIVE | KAICHAR 🌱

Start Up Foundation, in collaboration with Kaichar Sarashibala Balika Vidyamandir, organised a pre-Puja awareness workshop for students focusing on Cyber Safety and Road Safety.

📱 Students were sensitised on the responsible use of social media, ways to stay safe from cyber threats, and the importance of following road safety rules during the Puja festivities.

🚲 Promoting sustainable mobility and healthy living, a cycling rally was also organised with the message of safe, healthy and environment-friendly transportation.

♻️ As part of the initiative, students also participated in an e-waste collection drive, spreading awareness about responsible waste management and environmental protection.

🤝 The programme was organised under the “Seba Sankalpa Abhiyan”, bringing together education, safety, health and environmental responsibility.

🌱🚲 PRE-PUJA AWARENESS PROGRAMME | KAICHAR 🌱

Start Up Foundation, in association with Kaichar Sarashibala Balika Vidyamandir, conducted a pre-Puja awareness programme for students, highlighting the importance of Cyber Safety and Road Safety.

📱 The session focused on safe and responsible social media practices, awareness of cyber risks, and the importance of following road safety guidelines during the Puja season.

🚲 Encouraging active lifestyles and eco-friendly mobility, a cycling rally was also organised to promote safe, healthy and sustainable modes of transportation.

🌱 Waste Does Not Disappear — Your Choices Decide What Happens Next

Have you ever wondered what happens to your waste after you throw it into a dustbin?

Waste does not disappear. It moves from our homes into the collection system and eventually reaches another place. When different types of waste are mixed together, valuable materials can become difficult to recover, recycle or process safely.

Good waste management begins at the source.

Separate your waste before handing it over for collection:
♻️ Wet Waste
♻️ Dry Waste
♻️ Sanitary Waste
♻️ Special Care Waste

Kitchen waste can become compost. Paper, metal, glass and bottles can be recovered and used as resources again. But once everything is mixed together, recycling becomes more difficult and disposal becomes a greater challenge.

Let’s follow the 5R principle:

1️⃣ Refuse — Say no to what you do not need.
2️⃣ Reduce — Consume responsibly.
3️⃣ Reuse — Use things again whenever possible.
4️⃣ Repair — Repair before replacing.
5️⃣ Recycle — Recover what can be recycled.

Segregating waste also makes waste collection safer, cleaner and more efficient for our Safai Kormi, who work every day to keep our communities clean.

Waste management is not simply about throwing something into a bin. It is about making smarter choices before something becomes waste.

The next time you are about to throw something away, pause and ask:

Can I Refuse it?
Can I Reduce it?
Can I Reuse it?
Can I Repair it?
Can I Recycle it?

🌿 World Car-Free Day 2026 | Creating Greener and Healthier Campuses 🚲

A greener campus begins with the everyday choices we make about how we travel.

On the occasion of World Car-Free Day 2026, Start Up Foundation, in collaboration with Purba Bardhaman Cycling Club and with support from FIT India under the Sports Authority of India, Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, is encouraging educational institutions across West Bengal to promote cycling, walking and sustainable transportation.

We are pleased to highlight the participation of:

The institution participated by encouraging a vehicle-free campus environment and inspiring students, teachers and staff to adopt cleaner, healthier and more sustainable travel practices.

🚴‍♂️ Start Up Foundation joins Swachhata Hi Seva 2026 in Bolpur

Start Up Foundation was delighted to be part of the Swachhata Hi Seva 2026 initiative at SAI STC Bolpur. The Foundation’s CEO and State Cycling Leader of West Bengal for FIT India, Sandipan Sarkar, joined the cycle rally from Paruldanga to Pravat Sarani, followed by a cleanliness drive with around 200 enthusiastic young participants.

The programme provided an opportunity to interact with the players of SAI STC Bolpur, students of Bolpur Shikshaniketan Ashram Vidyalaya and cadets of FIT Man Bengal Sports Academy.

The initiative brought together cycling, fitness, cleanliness and youth participation, encouraging young people to embrace healthy lifestyles and contribute towards a cleaner and more responsible society. 🌿🚴‍♂️🇮🇳

🚶‍♂️ Heritage Walk for a Drug-Free Youth and a Viksit Bharat 🇮🇳

Start Up Foundation was pleased to participate in the Drug-Free Youth Campaign organised by the NSS Unit of Burdwan Raj College on 1 October 2026. The Heritage Walk began from Curzon Gate and continued up to Bardhaman Railway Station, bringing together young participants with messages of a healthy, disciplined and drug-free lifestyle, social responsibility and awareness of Bardhaman’s rich heritage.

Start Up Foundation CEO Sandipan Sarkar and CPEO Partha Protim Mitra were present at the programme. Also present were Dr. Rajib Lochan Mahapatra, NSS Coordinator, University of Burdwan; Dr. Om Shankar Dubey, NSS Programme Officer, Burdwan Raj College; Yoga Trainer Pritilata Bandyopadhyay; and sportsperson Shashi Kumar Sharma.

The importance of sports, yoga and disciplined living as positive pathways for staying away from addiction was highlighted during the programme. Participants also took the Drug-Free Youth Pledge and committed themselves to contributing towards a drug-free and responsible society.

Through this Heritage Walk, the programme connected Bardhaman’s history and culture with the message of healthy living, youth responsibility and a drug-free India.

🇮🇳 Remembering Two Great Leaders Through Action

On the occasion of the birth anniversary of Lal Bahadur Shastri, Gandhi Jayanti and World Non-Violence & Cleanliness Day, My Bharat, Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, Government of India, in association with Start Up Foundation, organised a special awareness programme at Barshul Cricket Academy with the participation of 100+ young sportspersons.

The programme was attended by Sujan Thakur, Assistant District Nodal Officer, My Bharat. The initiative began with an awareness rally through Barshul Bazaar, followed by a cleanliness drive at the sports ground and a quiz competition. Safai Kormi of Barshul-II Gram Panchayat were also felicitated for their dedicated contribution towards keeping the community clean.

The programme focused on inspiring young sportspersons to adopt the values of cleanliness, discipline, environmental responsibility and social commitment in their daily lives.

The event concluded with a soulful rendition of Vande Mataram, creating a strong sense of unity and patriotism among the participants. 🇮🇳

With the active participation of 100+ young sportspersons, the programme carried forward the message of cleanliness, non-violence, discipline and responsible citizenship inspired by the ideals of Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri.
