Darjeeling’s colonial cottages, churches, and bungalows still breathe in quiet corners —
their walls soaked in rain, stories, and time.

What were once tea planters’ homes now pour tea for travelers.
What were once schools of the empire now echo with local laughter.
The past didn’t disappear here — it learned to stay beautifully. 🌿

Because in Darjeeling, history doesn’t age — it lingers. 🍃

In the quiet ponds of Darjeeling, a forgotten guardian still waits —
the Himalayan Newt, fire-bellied and ancient as the mist.
Once found in Jorepokhri and Namthing Pokhri,
now it hides in shrinking waters, losing home inch by inch.

Extinction doesn’t always roar — sometimes it fades softly,
like ripples on a pond no one visits anymore. 🌧️

Let’s remember and protect what still breathes beneath the rain.
Because every small life tells a bigger story of the hills. 💚
