‘SATSANG AND ITS IMPORTANCE’.

The meaning of ‘Satsang’ is ‘company of the Absolute Truth’ where ‘Sat’ means the Absolute Truth i.e. God in present moment and ‘sang’ refers to the company of ’SELF’ or Saints. In short, the meaning of ‘Satsang’ is an environment that is conducive for experiencing the presence of SELF as the formless truth wherever you are. ‘Satsang’ is not something which is far away from you, idea is to make yourself available to ‘SELF’. Many people have a wrong notion of ‘Satsang’ being talks about God. Master talks in the language people understand and accordingly he decides the objects to take you within yourself. ‘Satsang’ is meduim to introducing you to yourself.

Should we attend the ‘Satsang’ by ‘Spiritual Masters”?
There are many benefits to be gained by attending a ‘Satsang’ and understanding the hidden meaning behind the truth, which the realised Masters have decoded through His/Her Sadhna. His Aura and Wisdom helps to awaken the truth, open up the right channel and charge your energies to take you beyond the illusion. In the company of true Master, you open-up to ask question fearlessly about life (Aatman) and even know the purpose of this Jiva (Body/individuality) on the earth journey.

‘Satsang’ helps to explore the science of spirituality and therefore clear all doubts that you have gathered through your conditioning throughout generations. Everyone on this earth is on spiritual journey, due to deep conditioning, all are trapped in the veil of Maya (Illusion), every struggle on this earth is to come out of illusion and find the truth for oneself, ‘Satsang’ helps to be in the company of people who looking for answers in life about ‘LIFE’ (Source). Together with the help of Master you clear your doubts about spiritual practices, principles and disciplines about seeking, you need to get them cleared or else you will not be able to practice spirituality wholeheartedly. ‘Satsang’ is a platform to share one’s spiritual experiences and also to understand the spiritual significance behind them. This gives you the motivation to persevere on this path as you get inspired by someone else’s faith.

At a subtle level, one gets the benefit of Divine consciousness (Chaitanya). The added sāttviktā of the ‘Satsang’ helps to facilitate one’s spiritual practice. Due to spiritual pollution in the form of rājasik and tāmasik elements around us, it becomes difficult to even think about God and spiritual practice. However, when you are with a group of people who meditate together, you are charged with positive energy (Aura) created by group-enrgy has more powerful flow. You get the benefit of the sāttvik rays or the Divine consciousness that emanates from them. You may enter the ‘Satsang’ with negativity of life’s ups and downs, however you feel revived from within and feel as good as new by the end of the ‘Satsang’. ~ Sri Satishji
