CHUMOUKEDIMA,JUN 5: To commemorate World Environment Day 2026, Altrura Society, in collaboration with the Seitheke Basa Youth Organisation, organized a tree plantation drive on 5th June 2026 at Seitheke Basa Chumoukedima.

The programme commenced in the morning with active participation from members of both organizations, community leaders, youth volunteers, and well-wishers. The event was organized with the objective of promoting environmental awareness and encouraging collective responsibility towards protecting and preserving nature.

During the programme, several tree saplings were planted in and around the designated area.
Participants enthusiastically took part in the plantation activity and pledged to nurture the saplings to ensure their healthy growth. The initiative highlighted the importance of afforestation, environmental conservation, and sustainable living for future generations.

Executives from Altrura Society and the Seitheke Basa Youth Organisation expressed their gratitude to all participants for their support and cooperation in making the programme successful. They also emphasized the need for continued community involvement in environmental protection activities.

The plantation drive concluded successfully with a renewed commitment from all participants to contribute towards building a greener, cleaner, and healthier environment.

Chümoukedima, April 11: The Altrura Open Penalty Shootout 2026 was successfully conducted at the Chümoukedima Town Local Ground, witnessing enthusiastic participation from 14 teams and showcasing a high level of sportsmanship and competition.

Ochikum Club emerged as the Champion and was awarded a cash prize of ₹50,000, while Nihoto FC secured the Runners-up position, receiving ₹30,000. The Best Disciplined Team award was presented to Tenyiphe 1 Youth Organisation with a cash prize of ₹5,000. The Semifinalists, Star FC and Altrura Team, were awarded ₹4,000 each. The Best Goalkeeper award went to a player from Nihoto FC, receiving ₹3,000.

The matches were officiated by the Chümoukedima District Football Referee Board, ensuring fair play and professionalism throughout the event.
The programme was chaired by Rüduolie Theunuo, Member of Altrura Society, with an invocation by Neibi Nagi, Treasurer of AuS. A keynote address was delivered by Ketusilie Meru, President of Altrura Society, highlighting the importance of sports in community development.

The closing ceremony was graced by special invitees Imsu Longkumer, CEO of Ms. W IMO Longkumer Construction & Supplier, and Jungshi Jamir, Chief Operating Officer of Kartys Digital Academy.

The Organising Committee expressed its sincere appreciation to all participating teams, sponsors, officials, and supporters for their contributions in making the event a grand success.

Chümoukedima, 26 January 2026:
On the auspicious occasion of the 77th Republic Day, Altrura Society, as assigned by the Office of the Deputy Commissioner, Chümoukedima, Nagaland marked the spirit of Republic Day by visiting the Old Age Home at Tenyiphe-1 Village.

During the visit, members of Altrura Society distributed blankets and eatables to the elderly residents of the home. The gesture was aimed at sharing warmth, care, and compassion with the senior citizens, reflecting the true values of unity and service upheld on Republic Day.

The interaction with the inmates was heartfelt, and the Society reaffirmed its commitment to social responsibility and community welfare.

Chumoukedima, June 5, 2025: In observance of World Environment Day 2025, the Altrura Society (AuS) in collaboration with the Chumoukedima Forest Range under the Dimapur Forest Division, Government of Nagaland, undertook a tree sapling distribution campaign in line with this year’s global theme “Ending Plastic Pollution.”

The Society distributed tree saplings to various educational and community institutions, including Hebron Higher Secondary School, Sovima; Christian Mission School, Seithekiema Basa; Government Primary School, Tenyiphe-1 E Khel; and Seithekiema Basa Baptist Youth Department. The initiative aimed to raise awareness on sustainable environmental practices and encourage greener community participation in combating climate change and pollution.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Ketousilie Meru, President AuS, emphasized the organization’s longstanding commitment to environmental protection. 'Every year, Altrura Society aligns its actions with the global environmental movement. This year’s effort to distribute tree saplings is a small but meaningful step towards a cleaner and greener future. By engaging schools and youth, we hope to inspire long-term stewardship of our natural resources,' he stated.

The Society expressed its gratitude to the Chumoukedima Forest Range officials for their continued support and collaboration in fostering environmental consciousness in the region.

Chumoukedima, March 31: Altrura Society (AuS) marked its 12th Foundation Day with a grand celebration at its Head Office in Chumoukedima today. The event witnessed the presence of members and well-wishers.

The program commenced with an invocation led by the Mass, Vice President AuS Jaser Meru led the programme, outgoing President Megosielie Kruse spoke on behalf of the outgoing team, expressing gratitude to the members for their unwavering support and dedication. He highlighted the collective achievements of the society and acknowledged the efforts of every member who contributed selflessly to the community.

An exhortation was delivered by Visakuolie Medom Gen-Secretary AuS who spoke passionately about the importance of teamwork and unity. He emphasized that the strength of the society lies in its members' shared commitment and collaborative efforts. His words served as a call to action for members to remain united and work together to address challenges and achieve common goals.

The society proudly welcomed Mr. Ketousilie Meru as the new President for the term 2025-2028. In his presidential address, Mr. Meru reaffirmed his dedication to the society's motto. He outlined a vision of inclusive growth, emphasizing sustainable development, youth empowerment, and enhanced community engagement.
