Sometimes, seva begins with a single soul refusing to look away.

A Sadhaka once visited a dog shelter in Jamnagar, Gujarat a place not built with luxury, funding, or comfort, but through pain, sacrifice, and unconditional compassion. That place was a shelter, founded by Kalpana Ji.

For the past 8 years, Kalpana Ji has dedicated her life to dogs abandoned by society dogs burnt with acid, suffering from severe infections, beaten, abused, starved, injured, and left to die on the streets. While the world chose to look away, she chose to stand beside them.
She is not only the owner of the shelter she is the caretaker, rescuer, administrator, and most importantly, a MOTHER to the dogs who now call this shelter their home.

There was once a dog whose life was under threat in a particular locality. Before society could destroy him, Kalpana Ji stepped forward, rescued him, and brought him under her roof. Today, that same dog lives safely and happily, protected and loved.

The shelter continues to nurture injured stray dogs fighting infections, tumors, disabilities, and trauma caused by human cruelty. Every day, Kalpana Ji personally takes dogs to hospitals, manages treatments, arranges medicines, feeds them, cleans their wounds, and ensures that every soul receives care and dignity.

Like Maa Adya Mahakali protecting her children in the darkest of times, Kalpana Ji’s OneRoofAnimalCare became a refuge for stray dogs who had nowhere left to go. This year, after years of relentless struggle she officially established OneRoofAnimalCare as an organization and has already transformed the lives of countless stray dogs.

When volunteers of Kaliputra Mission came to know about the shelter’s condition and its urgent need for support towards medical operation bills, paravet salary assistance, and food seva, the mission’s Sadhakas came together in seva. Through collective efforts , Kaliputra Mission extended support towards waiving critical medical and operation bills for rescued dogs under Kalpana Ji’s care . Assistance was also provided for paravet salary , helping ensure continuous treatment and care for the dogs who depend entirely on the shelter for survival.
Along with this, nearly 40 kgs of Pedigree and gravy meals were offered for the dogs living at the shelter .

One of the names of Maa Kali, as dictated by Mahakala Bhairava, is *Kukuralaya Nivāsinī* — “She who resides where dogs dwell.”Maa Kali is the one who resides in places where dogs are cared for and protected .

In Bhairava Sadhana, dogs are not seen as strays. They are sacred beings connected to Kalabhairava himself. A place where dogs are fed, protected, healed, and loved becomes a place blessed by Maa Kali. That is why Swahana Seva is not ordinary charity it is seva offered directly at the feet of Bhairava and Maa Adya Mahakali.

Kaliputra Mission expresses heartfelt gratitude to EVERY DONAR who contributed towards Swāhana Seva. Every contribution no matter how small became medicine for the injured, food for the hungry, treatment for the suffering, and hope for lives that had been abandoned by society.

In sevas like these, money does not remain mere currency it transforms into healing, protection, compassion, and life itself for beings who cannot ask for help in words.

A widowed old mother, Ms Gauri (name changed) who single-handedly raised her three sons was asked what kind of support she truly needed. With humility, she requested ₹30,000 to help her son, Kishore (name changed) manage the down payment for an auto-rickshaw so he could earn a stable livelihood for his family.

However, after calculating the monthly EMI and financial burden involved, it became clear that most of the young man’s earnings would go entirely toward loan repayment, leaving the family trapped in constant financial pressure.

Moved by the sacrifices and struggles of the mother, the mission made a heartfelt decision — not just to assist with the down payment, but to completely free the family from debt by procuring the auto-rickshaw for them without any loan burden.

The son, who is also a father to a newborn daughter, was requested by the mission to use the money that would have otherwise gone toward loan interest and EMIs to build savings for his daughter’s future and provide greater stability for the next generation.

This was not merely financial assistance, but an effort to honor a mother’s lifelong struggle, restore dignity to a hardworking family, and create a foundation for a more secure future.

With the blessings of Maa Kali, Kaliputra Mission was humbled to support an underprivileged woman by donating school fees for her children and helping close small financial loans that had become a burden on the family.
She also had medical issues which she wasn’t getting treated as she was burdened with payment of fees, and paying loans with interest which has surpassed even the principle by over 5 fold.

Education should never stop because of poverty, and no mother should suffer silently under financial stress. Every small act of seva can bring dignity, hope, and stability to a family in need.

We pray that this support helps her children continue their studies with confidence and gives the family strength to move forward toward a better future.

*From Abandonment to Healing: Brownie's Journey Under Maa AdyaMahaKali's Grace*

Brownie, a young puppy *abandoned* without protection or care, was *rescued* at a time when uncertainty surrounded his survival. What first appeared to be a hopeful rescue soon turned into a *medical emergency* when signs of serious illness began to surface.

Immediate efforts were made to seek treatment, and Brownie was taken for *medical evaluation and care*. As his condition progressed, he was shifted for continued treatment and monitoring, where concerns of *tick-borne infection* and *severe systemic illness* began to emerge.

*Fever*, *elevated infection markers*, *weakness*, and the possibility of *tick fever* placed Brownie in a condition that required *urgent and continuous medical attention*.

Yet even in this difficult phase, help continued to arrive through *genuine compassion* and *collective seva*.

Despite mounting *medical expenses* and uncertainty surrounding the treatment process, rescuers and supporters continued to ensure that Brownie received *uninterrupted care and attention*. Veterinary consultations, diagnostics, IV fluids, antibiotics, and continuous monitoring gradually brought *improvement*. What once appeared uncertain slowly transformed into *recovery*.

And through *Maa's grace*, Brownie's story did not end in suffering.

Today, Brownie has *recovered well*, regained stability, and has now found *a family* willing to give him care, safety, and *a future filled with dignity and compassion*.

This case stands as a reminder that *true seva* is not limited to rescue alone. It is the willingness to stand beside a life through *fear, illness, financial burden, and uncertainty* until *healing becomes possible*.

This is *Bhairava's seva* in action.
This is *Maa's Kripa* flowing through *Sadhakas*.

*When Maa Calls Her Own: A Seva Story of Signs and Grace*

Some seva doesn’t begin with planning…
It begins with a call.

When Sadhakas of Kaliputra Mission visited Nemmadi Mane Foundation, a home for 25 young girls being selflessly cared for over the past 16 years, something deeper than a simple visit unfolded.

*Before conversations… before observations…Maa gave Her Nimithas*

The very first thing their eyes fell upon… was a book titled *“Saturn.”*
The allied planet of Maa Adhya Maha Kali

A reminder…
She was already present there.

As they moved through the space, most of the children were not around that day.
Yet, from nowhere, one girl appeared…

Her name?
*Durga.*

She gently guided the Sadhakas to the upper floor, almost as if Maa Herself, in a *Bala* Rupa, was leading them forward… showing what needed to be seen.

And alongside Her…Bhairava too had marked His presence.

In the form of a *white abandoned street dog*, now lovingly embraced by the home,
a companion…
who consoles the girls when they are sad, understands their emotions, and has become family.

A reminder…
Where Maa resides, Bhairava never stays away.

And what unfolded was a space built on quiet sacrifice.

*A single man,without institutional backing, holding together the lives of 25 girls, providing food, shelter, and education with dignity.*

Girls who are now slowly stepping into their futures, some even pursuing fashion designing.

When asked why only girls, his answer carried a deeper truth:
“Girls hold families together. By supporting them, we build stronger futures.”

That moment didn’t feel like a statement.
It felt like Shakti speaking through him.

Because *to recognize the power of the feminine…*
*is to recognize Maa.*

Among their needs was something simple, yet essential,
TWO WASHING MACHINES that worked.*

Through Maa’s kripa, that need has now been fulfilled, as Kaliputra Misson has provided them TWO IFB washing machines.

It was all Maa, who chose a moment, gave signs, guided Her children and completed the Seva.

This is how She works, *divine are her ways*……
Not just in temples,
but in living forms, in quiet places, in unseen struggles.’
