One of our proudest moments in recent times have been this event. When a teacher asked the kids if they would like to leave the lab to go get lunch they all collectively yelled "Nooo!" We could not have been happier. This lab has wide open walls and a spacious room providing us with a very pleasing space to work with. We were happy to improve the space by putting up posters, adding cupboards, painting. In the end we had a beautiful lab with smiling students who were eager to use it for couple more hours. The establishment of this lab marks the opening of our 4th lab. It has been a privilege to work with the Olcott school and more importantly, the students there. We look forward to collaborating with them for future projects and using this lab to inspire a new way of learning.

We would like to thank the Round Table organisation and specially Ms.Yachana Khanna. Thanks for this wonderful opportunity.

We are very proud of the Peepul Conference that took place last weekend. It's a major accomplishment for MathMatters and AISC! Enthusiastic students from local schools in Chennai met with passionate speakers to engage in an extraordinary day of learning. Students not only learnt new values and skills but teachers also taught topics that are not commonly spoken about in India. We convey our deepest gratitude to out 3 speakers: Ms. Saranya on Gender Roles, Mr. Renga on Leadership and Ms. Geetha on Digital Citizenship. Additionally, we would like to thank the local students, the AISC community and everyone who helped make this event possible. We hope to make another Peepul Conference happen very soon! Thanks for all your support and interest in our page!

MathMatters is proud to announce that we are taking a step ahead. We call it the Peepul Conference. Peepul Conference is an initiative taken by the long running student led club called MathMatters at AISC. The conferences seeks to bring students from higher grades (8-12) in underprivileged local schools and expose them ideas and values that are essential to their daily life. By connecting specialized speakers who are passionate about their subject with students who are enthusiastic to learn, we strive towards making a positive impact on those in our local community. We not only introduce students with topics that are essential in life but also create friendship as we bring students from two different schools. This year, our conference has speakers who are talking on Digital Citizenship, Leadership and Entrepreneurship and Gender roles and portrayal in Tamil Media. The event will take place from 11:30AM to 5:30PM in the AISC campus. The students are divided into four group who then rotate through rooms to hear from different speakers. The conference's mission is to share values that guide students to lead a safe and fulfilling life. MathMatters has been focused on teaching and sharing values for 3 years, and the creation of The Peepul Conference is a great step ahead for us. Please look forward to seeing more!

Hi everyone! We have not posted in a while but MathMatters has been busy recently. We visited a new school last weekend with our members and conducted a diagnostics test and introduced ourselves by playing a quick and fun math card game. The members had a lot of fun and more importantly the students were excited to learn. We are looking forward to more!

Hi Everyone! It has a been a long time since we last posted. This time was spent making larger organizational changes within our club. Now that we're back, we are happy to announce that, on November 30th, we opened the Math Lab for the Chennai Garden School! This has been our third lab till now. Members of the Round Table cut the ribbon to inaugurate the lab. It was an unforgettable moment for us and we are very grateful for their help in this venture. We look forward to working with the Garden School as well as members of the Round Table. We are looking forward to working harder and bringing more positive change to the people around us!

September 24th - MathMatters took its members to the Chennai Garden School. We focused on building the Math Lab this trip. We painted benches, walls and even worked on a small mural! These are first steps to creating a fun and playful environment for the kids, where they can enjoy learning. Our hope is to make this lab a creative place for the students of the Garden School. We would like to thanks Ms.J.S.Lakshmi for accompanying us to this event.
