SOMA Activity Report

A SOMA activity session was conducted for KG2, KG1, and Nursery children with a focus on confidence building, mindfulness, gratitude, creativity, and early learning.

The children began with introduction activities where they shared their names, favourite colours, food, games, and things they love. This helped them build confidence and improve communication.

They were guided through mindful breathing techniques and simple body scan practices to help them feel calm, focused, and connected to the present moment.

KG2 children also participated in gratitude sharing, where each child shared one thing they were grateful for. Drawing activities were conducted on themes such as “My Favourite Thing” and “Things I Like.”

Nursery children enjoyed basic shape drawing and tracing activities, including circles, squares, and lines.

The session ended with reflection, where children shared how they felt and what they enjoyed most.

1st ODOC Assessment at Masjid Ul Ameen, Chennai, Tamil Nadu

The ODOC — One Dollar One Child Program was conducted by Sunyatee International Foundation at Masjid Ul Ameen, Chennai, in coordination with the Madarsa administration.

The program was organized with the support of Dr. Javeed, a Unani medical practitioner and Secretary of the Madarsa, who played a key role in coordinating the activities and ensuring the successful implementation of the project.

During the first assessment, 36 children were screened by measuring their height and weight. Based on BMI assessment in accordance with WHO standards, 31 children were identified as undernourished and selected as beneficiaries under the ODOC project.

DXN Spirulina supplements were distributed free of cost to all 31 identified children, with each child receiving two bottles. Children and teachers were guided on the correct dosage, method of consumption, and nutritional benefits of Spirulina.

As part of the 45-day intervention program, a second assessment will be conducted after 15 days to monitor the children’s progress and provide additional Spirulina support.

Brochures explaining the ODOC program and the benefits of Spirulina were also distributed to parents. The program received a positive response from the community.

Sunyatee International Foundation sincerely appreciates Dr. Javeed, the Madarsa management, parents, and children for their cooperation and support.

Sunya practice makes a sharp distinction: detachment is not understood by repeating the word “detachment.”

You practice reverse counting. You practice Sunya. Then the mind begins to understand what letting go actually means.

Talking about detachment can become another attachment. Practice cuts through the performance.

Save this for the days when you are thinking too much about practice and doing too little of it. Share it with someone who understands every concept, but still needs to sit down and begin.

What has taught you more: explanation, or direct practice?

The children at the Child Education Center joyfully participated in a Sunya Meditation session focused on calmness, focus, and overall well-being.

The session began with simple breathing exercises that helped the children relax and prepare for meditation. With enthusiasm, the young learners practiced mindful breathing, sat quietly in a peaceful environment, and took part in fun exercises that supported concentration and body awareness.

The session also encouraged patience, self-discipline, and emotional balance while giving the children an opportunity to relax and refresh their minds. The combination of movement and meditation made the experience enjoyable and meaningful.

The children participated actively with smiles and positive energy, making the session a wonderful step toward building healthy habits for growth and learning.

Sunya practice is described here as a force of inner renewal — something that can change not just the mind, but the whole way a person appears in life.

The image in this clip is striking: someone arrives worn down, heavy, almost lost, and after practice, begins to look like a completely different person.

That is the deeper point. Real practice is not decoration. It changes posture, presence, energy, and the way a person meets the world.

Save this if you need a reminder that people can change more deeply than they appear to. Share it with someone who is going through a heavy phase and may need hope, not pressure.

Tathagata and Sugata are not just names; they point to a state beyond ordinary coming and going.

The teaching says: when you open the Dharma Sutra, he is there. Sometimes he is not there. So you cannot simply say he has come, or he has gone.

Space and time belong to our ordinary way of measuring presence.

But the enlightened cannot be contained by the measurements that contain us.

Save this if you want to revisit the meaning of presence beyond physical appearance. Share it with someone who feels that wisdom can still meet them through a text, long after the teacher is gone.

When you read a true teaching, is the teacher absent, or present in another way?

Diamond Sutra teaching is not passive. It gives a radical instruction: whatever the problem, continue.

To restart is not easy. Many people fail once, feel corrupted by the failure, and begin to collapse inward.

But the power of Sunya is the ability to throw away what is no longer useful and begin again without dragging the whole past into the next step.

This teaching reminds us that one failure does not define the whole path. What matters is the ability to continue, restart, and move forward with clarity.

Save this for the day you feel like one failure has defined you. Share it with someone who needs permission to restart without shame.

What do most people find harder: continuing, or beginning again?
