On 10 July 2026, a Community Engagement Programme was jointly organized by Suchana and the villagers of Kewda Adivasi Village.
The programme witnessed active participation from community members across the five villages.
The event was inaugurated with traditional Santali songs and dances performed by local cultural groups.
The Village Manjhi Haram team warmly welcomed the participants and guests.
Community members enthusiastically participated in friendly football matches involving five female teams and four male teams.
During the sharing session, villagers presented their initiatives one by one, highlighting activities such as free tuition classes for adolescents, dustbin making, village cleanliness drives, and the formation of a girls' football team.
Youth groups, the Manjhi Haram team, mothers' groups, and other community members also shared their contributions and future plans for the development of their villages in the coming years.
The programme strengthened the bond between Suchana and the villagers and provided an excellent opportunity for mutual learning, collaboration, and exchange of ideas.
Approximately 350 people gathered to participate in the event and celebrate the spirit of community engagement.
Although heavy rainfall throughout the day prevented many expected participants from attending, representatives from all five villages gathered in one place and made the programme a meaningful and successful event.

Students from various colleges and universities such as Visva-Bharati University, St. Xavier's , AMIK, and Open University came to Suchana for internships. Churki Hansda, an Adivasi woman, has overcome social barriers and challenges through her strong determination and courage, becoming an inspiration for other women. She currently serves as the Secretary of Suchana organization and works dedicatedly for the education and development of Adivasi children. During the COVID-19 pandemic, she risked her own life to help others, and in recognition of her contributions, she has been honored by Social Action for Community Alternative Learning (SACAL) at Mecheda, Medinipur, and is now an idol for SHG members there.
