TED, which stands for Technology Entertainment Design, is a global array of conferences run by a private non-profit with the motto ‘Ideas worth spreading'. It comprises talks by versatile personalities who share experiences on scientific, cultural, and academic subjects. Since very few people get a chance to attend TED, ‘TEDx’ has been introduced, which is an independent TED-like event that can be
organized by anyone who obtains a free permit from TED, to cater to the local community. Although the target audience can be of a particular category, TEDx talks are accessible to everyone on the internet (official TEDx YouTube channel). It’s a good occasion for novices to get motivated and a worthy platform for speakers to communicate their narratives to the world. It’s not about the speakers, it’s about their stories; it’s not about just stories, it’s about communicating an idea effectively. TEDx tends to become the local forum for ideas within a community that inspires people to change their lives, their futures, and ultimately their world. TEDxVITPune was 'created' on 11th April 2015 with the theme of the event s 'Growth'. Interesting talks ranging from personal growth to technological growth were given by ordinary people with extraordinary ideas! After seven stellar editions, TEDxVITPune will be returning for its eighth edition.
