The overall objective of this project is to initiate a programme, which would facilitate the development process and create an environment for social change and a process of empowerment of women to improve the quality of life of people specially women. A major objective of central assistance in a particular region is to encourage economic growth and alleviate poverty in the context of micro-econom
ic framework. An important element of this project is to develop and promote sustainable programme in the domain of Handicrafts and bring the people above poverty line as far practicable in most backward area of Kutch. The preset objectives of this project are as below: -
• To increase socio-economic status of artisans.
• To provide self-employment for handicrafts artisans, this will help them in establishing their micro-enterprise.
• To ensure effective, collective participation of all the members involved in production and marketing process for optimal growth in human resource, production, business and income through SHG approach.
• To provide Social welfare & social security to the artisans.
• To enhance the capacity of artisans by providing vocational and need based trainings in tailoring, color combination and value addition.
• To provide marketing support to the artisans by organizing Trade Exhibitions and participating in State & National Melas
Operational Area…. The vllages and Talukas were the project is operational are: – Jiyapar & Nava Nagar village of Nakhatrana taluka. Kuran, Madhapar, Keshav Nagar and Dhanneti village of Bhuj Taluka and Faradi village of Mandavi Taluka, selected on the basis of level of poverty and backwardness.
