Odisha Sports Journalists' Association (OSJA), an affiliated state unit of Sports Journalist Federation of India (SJFI), was founded in the year 2003.

Odisha Sports Journalists' Association (OSJA), an affiliated state unit of Sports Journalist Federation of India (SJFI), was founded in the year 2003, revived a decade later and formally registered in March, 2015. The basic motto of OSJA is to promote sports and awareness for healthy as well as peaceful living. Since inception, OSJA has been functioning as a liaising body among all the stakeholder

s in the field of sports, including sportsperson, coaches, support staff, administrators, promotors, sponsors, philanthropists and most importantly, people of the state in general. Uniting all the sports journalists of the state, exploring better working opportunities for them and providing necessary support for their welfare are other key goals of OJSA. After putting up a decent performance for three years, OSJA is now looking forward to do something that will make the sports fraternity of the state proud. Our parent organisation has opened a nice door in this direction by giving us the opportunity to play host the 39th Annual Convention of SJFI at KIIT University in Bhuhbaneswar from September 14 to 18, 2016. This prestigious event is the first of its kind in Odisha and to make it successful, OSJA seeks the much-needed help, support and blessing of the sports fraternity the state.

ଓଡ଼ିଶା କ୍ରୀଡ଼ା ସାମ୍ବାଦିକ ସଂଘ (ଓସ୍‌ଜା)ର ସାଧାରଣ ପରିଷଦ ବୈଠକ (ଏଜିଏମ୍‌) ଶନିବାର ଭୁବନେଶ୍ବରସ୍ଥିତ ଉତ୍କଳ ସାମ୍ବାଦିକ ସଂଘ ପରିସରରେ ଅନୁଷ୍ଠିତ ହୋଇଯାଇଛି। ସଂଘର ୨୦୨୫-୨୬ ଆର୍ଥିକ ବର୍ଷର ଆୟବ୍ୟୟ ଉପସ୍ଥାପନ ସହିତ ୨୦୨୬-୨୭ କାର୍ଯ୍ୟ ଖସଡ଼ା ନିର୍ଦ୍ଧାରଣ କରାଯାଇଥିଲା। ଏହି ଅବସରରେ ୨୦୨୬-୨୮ ଦୁଇ ବର୍ଷ ପାଇଁ ଓସ୍‌ଜାର ନୂଆ କର୍ମକର୍ତ୍ତା ସର୍ବସମ୍ମତିକ୍ରମେ ମନୋନୀତ ହୋଇଥିଲେ।

ସନ୍ଦୀପ ମିଶ୍ର ସଭାପତି ପଦ ବଜାୟ ରଖିଥିବାବେଳେ ସମୀକ୍ଷା ପଟ୍ଟନାୟକ, ତପନ କୁମାର ସ୍ବାଇଁ, ସୁରେଶ କୁମାର ସ୍ବାଇଁ ପ୍ରଥମ ଥର ପାଇଁ କ୍ରମାନ୍ବୟରେ କାର୍ଯ୍ୟକାରୀ ସଭାପତି, ସାଧାରଣ ସମ୍ପାଦକ, କୋଷାଧ୍ୟକ୍ଷ ମନୋନୀତ ହୋଇଛନ୍ତି।

ଅନ୍ୟ ପଦାଧିକାରୀଙ୍କ ମଧ୍ୟରେ ଉପ-ସଭାପତି ଭାବେ ହିମାଂଶୁପତି ମିଶ୍ର, ସଂଜୀବ ବିଶ୍ବାଳ, ଦେବୀପ୍ରସନ୍ନ ମହାନ୍ତି ଏବଂ ଯୁଗ୍ମ ସମ୍ପାଦକ ଭାବେ ଦେବାଶିଷ ସୁନ୍ଦରାୟ, ଶୁଭଲକ୍ଷ୍ମୀ ବଳ, ବିମଳ କୁମାର ରାଉଳ ମନୋନୀତ ହୋଇଛନ୍ତି। କାର୍ଯ୍ୟକାରୀ କମିଟିରେ କେ. ରବି, ସମ୍ବିତ ମହାପାତ୍ର, ଜ୍ଞାନରଂଜନ ମିଶ୍ର, ଡି. ନିରଂଜନ ରେଡ୍ଡୀ, ଶକ୍ତି ପ୍ରସାଦ ନନ୍ଦ, ବେଣୁଧର ଦାସ, ତୁଷାର କୁମାର ସେନାପତି ସ୍ଥାନ ପାଇଛନ୍ତି। ସନ୍ଦୀପ ମିଶ୍ର ପୌରୋହିତ୍ୟ କରିଥିବାବେଳେ ସମୀକ୍ଷା ପଟ୍ଟନାୟକ ଧନ୍ୟବାଦ ଅର୍ପଣ କରିଥିଲେ।

ପ୍ରତିଭାସମ୍ପନ୍ନ ଯୁବ ଭାରୋତ୍ତୋଳିକା ପ୍ରୀତିସ୍ମିତା ଭୋଇ, ମହାନ ହକି ପ୍ରଶିକ୍ଷକ କାଳୁଚରଣ ଚୌଧୁରୀ ଏବଂ କ୍ରୀଡ଼ା ପ୍ରୋତ୍ସାହନରେ ବିଶେଷ ଅବଦାନ ରଖୁଥିବା ଏମ୍‌ଜିଏମ୍‌ ଗ୍ରୁପ୍‌କୁ ଓଡ଼ିଶା କ୍ରୀଡ଼ା ସାମ୍ବାଦିକ ସଂଘ (ଓସ୍‍ଜା)ର ବାର୍ଷିକ ପୁରସ୍କାର ପ୍ରଦାନ କରାଯାଇଛି। ରବିବାର ସ୍ଥାନୀୟ କଳିଙ୍ଗ ‌ଷ୍ଟାଡିୟମ୍‌ସ୍ଥିତ ଟେନିସ୍‌ ସେଣ୍ଟର୍‌ ଅଡିଟୋରିୟମ୍‌ଠା‌ରେ ଆୟୋଜିିତ ଉତ୍ସବରେ ଅତିଥିମାନେ ପ୍ରୀତିସ୍ମିତାଙ୍କୁ ୨୦୨୫ ମସିହାର ଶ୍ରେଷ୍ଠ ଖେଳାଳି ଏବଂ କାଳୁଚରଣ ଚୌଧୁରୀଙ୍କୁ ଜୀବନବ୍ୟାପୀ ସେବା ସମ୍ମାନ ବାବଦରେ ନଗଦ ୨୫ହଜାର ଟଙ୍କା ଲେଖାଏଁ, ପ୍ରଶସ୍ତିପତ୍ର, ଉତ୍ତରୀୟ ଓ ବିଶେଷ ଟ୍ରଫି ପ୍ରଦାନ କରିଥିଲେ।

ନିରନ୍ତର ଭାବେ ଜାତୀୟ ଓ ଅନ୍ତର୍ଜାତୀୟସ୍ତରରେ ପଦକ ଅମଳ କରୁଥିବା ପ୍ରୀତିସ୍ମିତା ଏସୀୟ ଯୁବ ଭାରୋତ୍ତୋଳନ, ବିଶ୍ବ ଯୁବ ଭାରୋତ୍ତୋଳନରେ ବିଶ୍ବ ରେକର୍ଡ ଏବଂ ରାଜ୍ୟଗୋଷ୍ଠୀ ଭାରୋତ୍ତୋଳନରେ ୩ ରେକର୍ଡ ସହ ୩ ସ୍ବର୍ଣ୍ଣ ପଦକ ଅମଳ କରି ଚର୍ଚ୍ଚାରେ ରହିଥିଲେ। ସେହିଭଳି କ୍ରୀଡ଼ା ଓ ଯୁବସେବା ବିଭାଗରୁ ଅବସର ନେଇ ସାରିଥିବା ପ୍ରଶିକ୍ଷକ କାଳୁଚରଣ ଚୌଧୁରୀ ସାଢ଼େ ୩ ଦଶନ୍ଧି ଧରି ଡଜନେ ପ୍ରାୟ ଅନ୍ତର୍ଜାତୀୟ ଖେଳାଳି ଗଢ଼ିତୋଳିବା ସହ ଜାତୀୟସ୍ତରରେ ଓଡ଼ିଶାକୁ ଏକାଧିକ ଥର ପଦକ ବିଜେତା କରାଇଛନ୍ତି। ହକି ନିଶା ପାଇଁ ସେ ଏବେ ବି ହକି ପ୍ରଶିକ୍ଷଣ ସହିତ ଜଡ଼ିତ ରହି ନିଜ ସାଧନା ଜାରି ରଖିଛନ୍ତି।

ଅନ୍ୟପକ୍ଷରେ କ୍ରୀଡ଼ାର ବିକାଶ ଦିଗରେ ପ୍ରମୁଖ ସହଯୋଗ ହାତ ବଢ଼ାଉଥିବା ଏମ୍‌ଜିଏମ୍‌କୁ ମଧ୍ୟ ପୁରସ୍କୃତ କରାଯାଇଥିଲା। ଏମ୍‌ଜିଏମ୍‌ ଗ୍ରୁପ୍‌ର ଅଧ୍ୟକ୍ଷ ପଙ୍କଜ ଲୋଚନ ମହାନ୍ତିଙ୍କ ତରଫରୁ କମ୍ପାନିର ଏଜିଏମ୍‌ (କାର୍ପୋରେଟ୍‌ ଆଫେୟାର୍ସ ଆଣ୍ଡ୍‌ ସିଏସ୍‌ଆର୍‌) ଉତ୍ତମ କୁମାର ନାୟକ ପ୍ରଥମ ଥର ପାଇଁ ପ୍ରଚଳିତ ଏହି ସମ୍ମାନ ଗ୍ରହଣ କରିଥିଲେ। ପୁରସ୍କାର ପ୍ରଦାନ ଉତ୍ସବରେ ମୁଖ୍ୟ ଅତିଥି ଭାବେ କ୍ରୀଡ଼ାମନ୍ତ୍ରୀ ସୂର୍ଯ୍ୟବଂଶୀ ସୂରଜ ଏବଂ ସମ୍ମାନିତ ଅତିଥି ଭାବେ ହକି ଇଣ୍ଡିଆ ସଭାପତି ଦିଲୀପ ତିର୍କି ଉପସ୍ଥିତ ରହି ଏହି ପୁରସ୍କାର ପ୍ରଦାନ କରିଥିଲେ।

ସର୍ବଭାରତୀୟ କ୍ରୀଡ଼ା ସାମ୍ବାଦିକ ସଂଘ ସହ ଅନୁବନ୍ଧିତ ‘ଓସ୍‌ଜା’ ବା ଓଡ଼ିଶା କ୍ରୀଡା ସାମ୍ବାଦିକ ସଂଘ ୨୦୧୮ମସିହାରୁ ବାର୍ଷିକ ପୁରସ୍କାର ପ୍ରଦାନ କରି ଆସୁଛି। ‘ଓସ୍‌ଜା’ର ସଭାପତି ସନ୍ଦୀପ ମିଶ୍ର ପୌରୋହିତ୍ୟ କରିବା ସହ ସ୍ବାଗତ ଭାଷଣ ଦେଇଥିବାବେଳେ ସମ୍ପାଦକ ସୁରେଶ ସ୍ବାଇଁ ସମସ୍ତଙ୍କୁ କୃତଜ୍ଞତା ଜ୍ଞାପନ କରିଥିଲେ। ବରିଷ୍ଠ ଉପ ସଭାପତି ସମୀକ୍ଷା ପଟ୍ଟନାୟକ କାର୍ଯ୍ୟକ୍ରମ ସଂଚାଳନ କରିଥିଲେ।

ସରକାରଙ୍କ କ୍ରୀଡ଼ା ବ୍ୟବସ୍ଥା ବ୍ୟତୀତ ସାମ୍ବାଦିକତା ହିଁ ଅନ୍ୟତମ ଶ୍ରେଷ୍ଠ ମାଧ୍ୟମ ଯାହା କ୍ରୀଡ଼ା ଓ କ୍ରୀଡ଼ା ବିକାଶରେ ଉପଯୁକ୍ତ ଯୋଗଦାନ ରଖୁଛି। ସରକାର ଏବେ ଓଡ଼ିଶାରେ ତୃଣମୂଳସ୍ତରରୁ ଖେଳର ସାମଗ୍ରିକ ବିକାଶ ପାଇଁ କାମ କରୁଛନ୍ତି। ଏ‌ କ୍ଷେତ୍ରରେ ଯଦି କୌଣସି ପ୍ରତିବଂଧକ ଆସୁଛି କି ପ୍ରସ୍ତାବ ରହିଛି ଆମ ଦୃଷ୍ଟିକୁ ଆଣିବାକୁ କ୍ରୀଡ଼ାମନ୍ତ୍ରୀ ସୂର୍ଯ୍ୟବଂଶୀ ସୂରଜ ଅନୁରୋଧ କରିଥିଲେ। ‌ଏହି ଅବସରରେ କ୍ରୀଡ଼ା ସାମ୍ବାଦିକଙ୍କ ଭୂମିକାକୁ ସ୍ବୀକୃତି ଜଣାଇବା ସହ ଖୁବ୍‌ ଶୀଘ୍ର କଳିଙ୍ଗ ଷ୍ଟାଡିୟମ୍‌ରେ ଏକ କ୍ରୀଡ଼ା ସଂଗ୍ରହାଳୟର ବ୍ୟବସ୍ଥା କରାଯିବ।

ବ୍ୟାଡ୍‌ମିଣ୍ଟନ୍‌ର ବିଶ୍ବସ୍ତରୀୟ ଭିତ୍ତିଭୂମି ‘ସଟଲ୍‌’ ପରିସରରେ ସର୍ବନିମ୍ନ ଆବଶ୍ୟକତା ସହିତ ଏକ ମିଡିଆ ସେଣ୍ଟର୍‌ କରାଯିବ ବୋଲି ଓସ୍‌ଜାର ବିଭିନ୍ନ ଦାବି ପ୍ରସଙ୍ଗରେ ନିଜ ବକ୍ତବ୍ୟ ବେଳେ ଘୋଷଣା କରିଥିଲେ ମନ୍ତ୍ରୀ। ଖେଳ ସାମ୍ବାଦିକତା ପାଇଁ ହିଁ ଖେଳ ଓ ଖେଳାଳିଙ୍କ ସଫଳତାକୁ ନେଇ ‘ଓଡ଼ିଶା’ ଆଜି ବିଶ୍ବ ଦରବାରରେ ପ୍ରଶଂସିତ ହୋଇଛି ବୋଲି କହିଥିଲେ ହକି ଇଣ୍ଡିଆ ସଭାପତି ଦିଲୀପ ତିର୍କି।

Odisha Sports Journalists Association (OSJA) bagged two posts in the elections of the office-bearers of the Sports Journalists Federation of India (SJFI), which was held for a two-year term (2025-2027) during the Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the National body at a city hotel Bhubaneswar on 29 June 2025.

OSJA secretary Suresh Swain was elected as one of the four vice-presidents, while OSJA president Sandeep Mishra emerged winner as one of the seven executive committee members. Saraju Chakraborty (Tripura Sports Journalists Club) and Ramesh Varikuppala (Telangana Sports Journalists Association) were elected as the new president and secretary respectively.

The AGM also unanimously decided to confer the prestigious SJFI Medal 2024 on Indian chess icon and first Grandmaster Viswanathan Anand for his outstanding contribution to the development of chess in India for a period of four decades.

Anand will receive the SJFI Medal that has been previously bestowed upon greats of our country like Vijay Amritraj (Tennis), Prakash Padukone (Badminton), Sunil Gavaskar (Cricket), Milkha Singh (Athletics, posthumous) and P T Usha (Athletics).

Odisha Sports Journalists’ Association honoured javelin sensation Kishore Kumar Jena and weightlifting legend Bijaya Kumar Satpathy with the 7th OSJA Annual Awards at Kalinga Stadium Tennis Centre in Bhubaneswar today.

Son of the soil Jena, who created history by winning the silver medal with a personal best of 87.54m at the Hangzhou Asian Games last year, bagged the prestigious award as the Sportsperson of the Year. Arjuna Awardee and Commonwealth Games medallist Satpathy was conferred the award for Lifetime Achievements.

Both the awards carried Rs 25,000 each along with mementoes and citations. Odisha Olympians Anuradha Biswal and K Ravi Kumar graced the awards function as chief guest and guest of honour respectively.

In the absence of the 71-year-old Satpathy, who could not join the function due to health issues, Odisha Weightlifting Association Secretary K Ravi Kumar received the award on his behalf. OSJA also felicitated Kishore Jena’s coach Samarjeet Singh Malhi on this occasion.

OSJA President Sandeep Mishra presided over the function, which was attended by sportspersons, coaches and administrators and members of OSJA. Working President K Ravi and Joint-Secretary Suresh Swain delivered the welcome address and vote of thanks respectively. On this occasion, OSJA wished Kishore Jena all success for the 2024 Paris Olympic Games.

OSJA, the Odisha State unit of Sports Journalists Federation of India, has been conferring the annual awards since 2018. Past winners of the OSJA Sportsperson of the Year Award include Purnima Hembram (Athletics), Amit Rohidas (Hockey), Pramod Bhagat (Para badminton), Swayams Mishra (Chess), Birendra Lakra (Hockey) and Swasti Singh (Cycling).

Past recipients of the OSJA Lifetime Achievement Awards are: Debendra Prasad Singh (Football), Braja Bhusan Mohanty (Boxing), Panchanan Gantayat (Athletics), Arun Kumar Das (Athletics), Arupananda Routray (Basketball) and Peter Tirkey (Hockey.).
