As part of the River Cleaning Week, the GRK team joined hands with enthusiastic volunteers to restore the pristine beauty of the Singen River in Nyodu village. On October 14, 2025, Gumin Rego Kilaju (GRK) Leparada headed by Shri Tami Lombi, Secretary General GRK & Shri Tajen Kamum, Vice President GRK, had the honor of welcoming the Indian Army’s Shaurya Motor Cycle Rally team to Basar, alongside the District Football Association, Basar Market Association, GRK Football Academy, and enthusiastic school students.
The rally holds deep significance, commemorating the valor and ultimate sacrifice of Rifleman Neelam Tebi who laid down his life during the 1962 India-China War. It also marks the forthcoming inauguration of the Neelam Tebi War Memorial, serving as a lasting tribute to all Indian braves, veterans, and their families. The rally’s journey—spanning challenging routes and diverse communities—symbolizes unity, national pride, and remembrance.
Equally important, the rally is a social mission to promote ‘No Drugs’ and ‘No School Dropouts,’ By traveling through Lepa Rada, the event showcases the region’s potential for tourism and cultural enrichment.
Basar’s heartfelt reception was a testament to its community spirit. By participating in the welcome, GRK and its fellow citizens reaffirmed their commitment to honoring the sacrifices of India’s heroes, supporting progressive social causes, and uplifting the youth of Arunachal Pradesh.
GRK remains dedicated to encouraging community spirit and supporting initiatives that advance health, education, and collective well-being. The successful reception of the Shaurya Motor Cycle Rally is another testament to GRK’s ongoing efforts to uplift Basar and its residents.

“The 5th Edition of the River Cleaning and Water Conservation Week will be observed from 14th to 21st October 2025 at Basar under the aegis of Gumin Rygo Kwalaju (GRK), in collaboration with the District Administration, Leparada. All GRK units, educational institutions, youth associations, farmers society, Self Help Groups and residents of Leparada District are requested to ensure active participation in the weeklong awareness and cleaning activities. The programme will culminate with a mass river cleaning drive along the Kidi and Hie Rivers on 19th October 2025, commencing at 7:00 AM from Marto Kamdak Multipurpose Hall, Basar. Let us join hands to maintain clean rivers and promote sustainable water conservation for the welfare of our community and future generations.”
