Adbi Markaz Kamraz Invites Entries for Best Book Award 2025

Literary Body Seeks Submissions in Poetry, Creative Writing, Research and Critical Prose; Deadline June 5

Srinagar, May 18

Adbi Markaz Kamraz Jammu and Kashmir has invited entries for its “Best Book Award – 2025” aimed at promoting quality literature in the Kashmiri language.

As per the notice, the awards will be presented during the organisation’s Annual Conference and are open exclusively to writers and poets belonging to the Kamraz region, including the districts of Baramulla, Bandipora, Kupwara and Ganderbal.

The organisation has asked interested authors to submit three copies of their books published during the years 2022, 2023 and 2024 for consideration under different categories.

The award categories include Creative Writing, Research-based Writing, Critical Prose and Poetry.

The notice further states that authors whose books have already received award from Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages, Sahitya Akademi or any other registered literary forum shall not be eligible for the award.

For submission of books, writers from Baramulla district can contact Rashid Roshan on 9622431887, Kupwara district writers can contact Javed Iqbal Mawari on 7006200456, while writers from Bandipora and Ganderbal districts can contact Majid Majazi on 7889416772.

The last date for submission of entries has been fixed as June 5, 2026.

Adbi Markaz Kamraz Holds “Nasha Mukt J&K” Awareness Programme in Baramulla

Baramulla.

A special awareness programme under the “Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir” campaign was organized by the renowned literary and linguistic organisation, Adbi Markaz Kamraz, at its headquarters in Kanispora Baramulla.

The programme was chaired by former DIET Principal Sheikh Ghulam Mohammad, while District Officer AYUSH Ganderbal Dr. Bahar Ahmad and Chairman Human Aid Society Mir Bashir Ahmad were also present on the occasion.

At the beginning of the event, Vice President of Adbi Markaz Kamraz, Shakir Shafi, administered a pledge to the participants, reaffirming their commitment to fighting drug abuse and ensuring a safe future for the younger generation.

Speakers on the occasion urged the youth to stay away from the social evil of drug addiction and stressed that collective awareness is essential for building a healthy and capable society.

A brief yet thought-provoking Mushaira was also held during the programme, where poets attempted to spread awareness through their poetry on the theme of staying away from drugs.

Before the awareness session, the monthly executive meeting of Adbi Markaz Kamraz was held under the chairmanship of its President Mohammad Amin Bhat, during which various organisational matters and upcoming literary and cultural activities were discussed.
