It is said that the greeting of Salaam was ordained for the believers because the station of the Prophets often invites objection, as they command what opposes human desires. Thus, when a believer says, “As-Salaamu ʿAlayka Yaa RasoolAllah (ﷺ)”, it is as though he is declaring:

“O Messenger of Allah, there is no resistance or objection in my heart towards you.”
