Gone are the days of Dadi Nani telling us stories. It’s a lost art (at least in the regular house holds). The new avatar of story telling happens either on a podcast or in closed groups of a literature festival. But the personal touch is lost somewhere. Same is true for personal, deep, and enriching Conversations.
But yesterday came as a breath of fresh air to me. It was special. I met two beautiful souls and had heartful conversations. Amena Bal of GEN Bharat and Peepal Baba of Give Me Trees Trust ( whom I lovingly call ‘DADA’). Very personal , one – on – one , one which you do not want to end. My deepest gratitude to both.
Amena's mention of Vancouver's innovative water billing model is truly eye-opening. Instead of charging based on water usage, the bill is determined by how much water is discharged from the household. This approach cleverly incentivizes water reuse—less discharge means a lower bill. It’s a brilliant way to encourage sustainability and mindful water management, offering a model that could inspire cities around the world. What a fascinating and forward-thinking idea!
