Kalinga Centre for Rainforest Ecology

Kalinga Centre for Rainforest Ecology KCRE works to bring people closer to nature through workshops on ecology and wildlife. What does Kalinga mean? Our motto...
Attitude matters most, make it green!

We focus on learning, and practical understanding, empowering people of all ages and backgrounds to make informed, responsible choices for wildlife conservation. As tiger is for mainland, the flagship species of the reptilian world in these forests is undoubtedly the King Cobra(Ophiophagus hannah), colloquially known as Kālinga!

Where otters thrive, rivers breathe.
On this World Otter Day, let's remember that otters aren't just adorable, they're the pulse of our freshwater ecosystems. As bioindicators, their presence tells us our rivers are still alive. Their absence tells us we've failed them.
India is home to 3 otter species, all threatened, all fighting to survive against habitat loss, pollution, and poaching. They've been here for millions of years. Let's make sure they stay.
Protect the otter. Protect the river. Protect ourselves
