OBLF's Palliative Care Center at Sir C.V. Raman General Hospital just completed one year of delivering compassionate care, and we marked it the only way that felt right; together.

Officials and dignitaries from the Health & Family Welfare Department, hospital leadership, medical professionals, patients, caregivers, and families — all under one roof, sharing stories, experiences, journeys, music, and memories.

The room held quiet strength: families and caregivers speaking of the care that carried them through their hardest days. A Memory Tree honoring those we've lost, held gently in collective remembrance.

The OBLF Palliative Care team pledged and shared their resolve, this is just the beginning.

To every hand that healed, every family that trusted us, and every life that reminded us why this work matters, we are grateful, we appreciate your trust and we thank you.

We reiterate our commitment to ensure dignity, comfort, and compassion for those who need them the most .

Growing older often means living with multiple chronic health conditions, and vision problems are among the most overlooked. Cataracts alone account for nearly two-thirds of blindness among older adults, significantly affecting their independence, mobility, and quality of life.

At OBLF, we believe healthy aging goes beyond treating diseases. It is about empowering older adults to live with dignity, independence, and confidence.
To make quality eye care accessible at the community level, OBLF is collaborating with University Institute of Medical Sciences and Research, the Primary Health Center, and the Gram Panchayat to organize vision screening camps for older adults. Individuals diagnosed with cataracts receive free cataract surgery, ensuring that cost is never a barrier to restoring sight.

This initiative is another step toward our commitment to comprehensive geriatric care by bringing preventive, promotive, and curative health care closer to the communities that need it most.

Together, we can help older adults see a brighter future.

Behind every confident learner is a teacher who continues to learn.

Teaching is an evolving profession. As classrooms, learning needs, and educational practices continue to grow, ongoing professional development helps teachers strengthen their skills, explore new approaches, and create meaningful learning experiences for every child.

UNESCO recognizes continuous professional development as “a long-term, context-specific process” that treats teachers as active learners and supports them in developing expertise over the course of their careers. At the same time, the OECD highlights the role of ongoing teacher professional learning in enhancing classroom practice and student learning and engagement.

At One Billion Lives Foundation, we work alongside educators to support continuous learning, strengthen teaching practices, and create engaging classrooms where children can thrive. Because investing in teachers is one of the most meaningful ways to invest in children's learning.

Older adults often live with multiple chronic conditions, leading to significant out-of-pocket healthcare expenses that can push families into financial hardship.

The Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PM-JAY), implemented in Karnataka as Ayushman Bharat–Arogya Karnataka, provides financial protection by ensuring eligible individuals can access quality healthcare. Yet for many eligible beneficiaries, enrolling in the program and utilizing its benefits remains a challenge.
At One Billion Lives Foundation (OBLF), we are committed to bridging this gap by identifying eligible older adults and vulnerable individuals, facilitating enrollment in Ayushman Bharat–Arogya Karnataka, and empowering communities with the knowledge they need to access the benefits they deserve.

To strengthen this effort, OBLF conducted a one-day orientation on PM-JAY for our health team, led by Dr. Kiran K., Assistant Professor, PES University Institute of Medical Sciences and Research.

We sincerely thank Dr. Kiran K. for an engaging and insightful session that has equipped our team to better connect underserved communities with quality healthcare.

At OBLF, we believe health insurance creates meaningful impact only when it reaches the people who need it most.

Together, we are making healthcare more accessible, inclusive, and compassionate.
