Have you considered God?
In 1966 Time magazine ran a cover story asking: "Is God Dead?". The same year the Time Magazine featured astronomer Carl Sagan, who announced that there are two necessary criteria for a planet to support life. First is that it should have the right kind of star, and the second is that it should have the right distance between the star and the planet. Therefore, technically out of the 1024 planets in the universe, 1021 planets should be capable of supporting life. Even with such remarkable likelihoods, the SETI (Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence) has failed to gather any credible evidence of life in other planets.
As our knowledge of the universe increased, it became clear that there were, in fact, far more factors necessary for life, let alone intelligent life! The two parameters that Sagan proposed later became two hundred parameters but no one was able to confirm the presence of life elsewhere. Isn’t this astounding? What do you think? Did these parameters meet by accident? Just pause here for a second and ask yourself a question. Doesn’t it require far less faith to believe that this earth is the handiwork of a Creator than to assume that a life-sustaining Earth just came into being “randomly”?
Another important reason to believe in the existence of God is because of the presence of objective moral laws in the world. What are moral laws? Unlike the laws of physics or mathematics that tell us “what is”, the laws of morality tell us “what ought to be”. Also, morality doesn’t exist physically and there are no moral or immoral cells or genes that can be considered as the source of moral laws.
Therefore, its cause must be something that exists apart from the physical world and it points to a supernatural GOD. The consequence of this argument is that whenever we appeal to morality, we are appealing to God whether we know it or not, even if we identify as an atheist.
These are just some of the realities that point towards the resounding fact that GOD EXISTS! Now at this juncture, ask yourself a question. Are you ready to believe in this powerful Creator who is waiting with open arms to embrace His creation?
