The Inspiring Women

The Inspiring Women It is an effort to feature extraordinary and inspiring stories of destitute women. Underprivileged women even more so than their educated counterparts.

Whose battle has given a ray of hope to other women who have surrendered and accepted the gender-based violence and exploitation. Women in India need to strive harder than men to gain and maintain a place in society. Unskilled and destitute, these uneducated women have no alternative but to depend upon their husbands’ income for food, shelter, kids’ education and hardly have the means to take care

of themselves and their health. They're always the ones sacrificing for their families. Society has set standards for these women; they have no freedom of choice or speech, they can rarely roam around freely- free from the stereotypes associated with them. Widows are looked down upon and divorcees despised. According to you, are women being victimised socially? An empowered female force makes a stronger nation and small steps taken at the beginning of this hard trail of empowerment leads us to something new, something never done before; such is the story of Pabiben Rabari. The founder of one of the first women artisan enterprises in the country, Pabiben Rabari stands as a true brand ambassador of the colourful Kutch district. With the aim of expanding the tribal legacy of Rabari embroidery, she joined a Rabari women’s group and ended up crafting unique styles of embroidery, including Hari Jari and Pabi Jari. Currently, her eponymous business based in Kukadsar employs over 60 women making more than 25 designs, and her website is quite popular across the world. As Pabiben Rabari brought together so many women and made it possible for them to earn their livelihoods, we hope to have such strong personalities in our country who can bring women together and create a community of successful female earners. The success stories of one woman inspire many more which leads to a ripple effect, motivating numerous destitute females to stand on their own feet. Extending a small hand, we’re introducing project ‘Muskaan’ which aims to be a stepping stone in order to reach this goal of self-reliance.
