NSS wing of L.R.T College of Commerce in collaboration with Rotary Club of Akola North organised The Eco-Friendly Shadu Mati Ganesh Making Workshop was a unique initiative aimed at promoting environmental sustainability and cultural heritage. The event was held in the gracious presence of Adv. Motisingh Mohta, President of The BGE Society Akola.
Objectives:
1. Promote Eco-Friendly Practices: To raise awareness about the environmental impact of traditional Ganesh idols and promote eco-friendly alternatives.
2. Preserve Cultural Heritage: To preserve traditional art forms and cultural heritage, while also promoting innovation and creativity.
3. Community Engagement: To foster a sense of community and encourage participants to take ownership of their environmental responsibilities.
Key Highlights:
1. Expert Guidance: Arch. Rtn. Rajesh Raut and Rtn. Akhilesh Parika provided expert guidance on crafting eco-friendly Ganesh idols using Shadu Mati.
2. Hands-on Experience: Around 100 participants, including students, rotarians, and Rota Kids, gained hands-on experience in making eco-friendly Ganesh idols.
3. Environmental Awareness: The workshop emphasized the importance of sustainable practices and encouraged participants to adopt eco-friendly methods in their daily lives.

Rotary Club Akola North's "Akansha Study App" Distribution

On August 7th & 8th 2025, Rotary Club Akola North successfully carried out the 2nd phase of its district project, distributing 245 "Ideal Study App" coupons to 10th standard students at:

1. Mahatma Gandhi Vidyalaya, Haatrun - 65 students
2. Jijamata Vidyalaya, Karanja - 100 students
3. Swami Vivekananda Vidyalaya, Hata - 40 students
4. Late Jagdevrao Varade Vidyalaya, Andura - 40 students
5. Maa Sharda Dnyanpeeth, Akola - 40 students

Students received comprehensive information on the app's importance and functionality.
The project was led by Rtn. Ravikant Khetkar and Rtn. PP Devendra Wakchaware focusing on Basic Education and Literacy.
