Powerful story : The almighty Personality of Godhead, Śrī Kṛṣṇa, having observed that a great danger was befalling His unalloyed devotees, who were fully surrendered souls, at once took up His Sudarśana disc to protect them.

Text 14: The Lord of supreme mysticism, Śrī Kṛṣṇa, resides within everyone’s heart as the Paramātmā. As such, just to protect the progeny of the Kuru dynasty, He covered the embryo of Uttarā by His personal energy.

Text 15: O Śaunaka, glory of Bhṛgu’s family, although the supreme brahmāstra weapon released by Aśvatthāmā was irresistible and without check or counteraction, it was neutralized and foiled when confronted by the strength of Viṣṇu [Lord Kṛṣṇa].

Text 16: O brāhmaṇas, do not think this to be especially wonderful in the activities of the mysterious and infallible Personality of Godhead. By His own transcendental energy He creates, maintains and annihilates all material things, although He Himself is unborn.

Text 17: Thus saved from the radiation of the brahmāstra, Kuntī, the chaste devotee of the Lord, and her five sons and Draupadī addressed Lord Kṛṣṇa as He started for home.

Text 18: Śrīmatī Kuntī said: O Kṛṣṇa, I offer my obeisances unto You because You are the original personality and are unaffected by the qualities of the material world. You are existing both within and without everything, yet You are invisible to all.

True peace lies only at Radha Madhav’s lotus feet.🙏🏻 One can understand the Supreme Personality as He is only by devotional service. And when one is in full consciousness of the Supreme Lord by such devotion, he can enter into the kingdom of God.” After the mind is completely absorbed in Kṛṣṇa consciousness, one can enter the planet known as Goloka Vṛndāvana. To enter the association of the Supreme Personality of Godhead, one has to understand Kṛṣṇa. The process of understanding Kṛṣṇa is devotional service. After understanding Kṛṣṇa as He is, one can become eligible to enter Kṛṣṇaloka and associate with Him. The mind is the cause of such an exalted position. The mind can also get one a body like those of dogs and hogs. To absorb the mind always in Kṛṣṇa consciousness is therefore the greatest perfection of human life.

भगवान् को उनके वास्तविक स्वरूप में केवल भक्तिमयी सेवा द्वारा ही जाना जा सकता है। और जब कोई व्यक्ति ऐसी भक्ति के द्वारा पूर्ण रूप से भगवान् के प्रति सचेत हो जाता है, तब वह भगवान् के धाम में प्रवेश करने योग्य बन जाता है। जब मन पूर्णतः कृष्णभावनामृत में तल्लीन हो जाता है, तब जीव गोलोक वृन्दावन नामक दिव्य धाम में प्रवेश कर सकता है। परम पुरुषोत्तम भगवान् की संगति प्राप्त करने के लिए श्रीकृष्ण को समझना आवश्यक है, और श्रीकृष्ण को समझने की प्रक्रिया भक्तिमयी सेवा है। श्रीकृष्ण को उनके वास्तविक स्वरूप में समझ लेने के पश्चात् मनुष्य कृष्णलोक में प्रवेश करने तथा भगवान् की संगति प्राप्त करने का अधिकारी बन जाता है। मन ही ऐसी उच्च अवस्था की प्राप्ति का कारण है, और यही मन मनुष्य को कुत्ते तथा सूअर जैसे शरीरों में भी पहुँचा सकता है। अतः मन को सदैव कृष्णभावनामृत में तल्लीन रखना ही मानव जीवन की सर्वोच्च सिद्धि है।

Kaṁsa was a condemned personality in the Bhoja dynasty because he was envious and sinful. Therefore, upon hearing this omen from the sky, he caught hold of his sister’s hair with his left hand and took up his sword with his right hand to sever her head from her body.

Text 36: Wanting to pacify Kaṁsa, who was so cruel and envious that he was shamelessly ready to kill his sister, the great soul Vasudeva, who was to be the father of Kṛṣṇa, spoke to him in the following words.

Text 37: Vasudeva said: My dear brother-in-law Kaṁsa, you are the pride of your family, the Bhoja dynasty, and great heroes praise your qualities. How could such a qualified person as you kill a woman, your own sister, especially on the occasion of her marriage?

Text 47: When Vasudeva saw that Kaṁsa was determined to kill his sister Devakī, he thought to himself very deeply. Considering the imminent danger of death, he thought of another plan to stop Kaṁsa.

Texts 49-50: Vasudeva considered: By delivering all my sons to Kaṁsa, who is death personified, I shall save the life of Devakī. Perhaps Kaṁsa will die before my sons take birth, or, since he is already destined to die at the hands of my son, one of my sons may kill him. For the time being, let me promise to hand over my sons so that Kaṁsa will give up this immediate threat, and if in due course of time Kaṁsa dies, I shall have nothing to fear.

Text 54: Vasudeva said: O best of the sober, you have nothing to fear from your sister Devakī because of what you have heard from the unseen omen. The cause of death will be her sons. Therefore I promise that when she gives birth to the sons from whom your fear has arisen, I shall deliver them all unto your hands.

Text 55: Śrīla Śukadeva Gosvāmī continued: Kaṁsa agreed to the logical arguments of Vasudeva, and, having full faith in Vasudeva’s words, he refrained from killing his sister. Vasudeva, being pleased with Kaṁsa, pacified him further and entered his own house.

No words for today’s darshan! 🧡 In this material world there is a great illusion which covers real intelligence. A man in the mode of passion wants to work very hard to derive some benefit, but he does not know that time will never allow him to enjoy anything permanently. Compared with the work one expends, the gain is not so profitable. Even if it is profitable, it is not without its distresses. Someone may argue that even devotees have to undergo many distresses in executing austerities and penances connected with devotional service. Of course, for the neophytes the routine of devotional service may be very painful, but at least they have the hope that they will ultimately be able to avoid all kinds of distresses and achieve the highest perfectional stage of happiness.

इस भौतिक संसार में एक महान् मोह विद्यमान है, जो मनुष्य की वास्तविक बुद्धि को ढक देता है। रजोगुण से प्रभावित व्यक्ति किसी लाभ की प्राप्ति के लिए अत्यन्त कठिन परिश्रम करना चाहता है, किन्तु वह यह नहीं जानता कि काल उसे किसी भी वस्तु का स्थायी उपभोग कभी नहीं करने देगा। जितना परिश्रम वह करता है, उसकी तुलना में प्राप्त लाभ वास्तव में इतना मूल्यवान नहीं होता। और यदि कुछ लाभ प्राप्त भी हो जाए, तो वह अनेक कष्टों से रहित नहीं होता। कोई यह तर्क दे सकता है कि भक्तों को भी भक्तिमयी सेवा से सम्बन्धित तपस्या और नियमों का पालन करते समय अनेक कष्टों का सामना करना पड़ता है। निस्सन्देह, नवदीक्षित भक्तों के लिए भक्ति का नियमित अभ्यास प्रारम्भ में कुछ कठिन और कष्टदायक प्रतीत हो सकता है; किन्तु कम-से-कम उनके पास यह आशा तो रहती है कि अन्ततः वे समस्त प्रकार के दुःखों से मुक्त होकर परम पूर्ण आनन्द की अवस्था को प्राप्त कर लेंगे।

Pūtanā was always hankering for the blood of human children, and with that desire she came to kill Kṛṣṇa; but because she offered her breast to the Lord, she attained the greatest achievement. What then is to be said of those who had natural devotion and affection for Kṛṣṇa as mothers and who offered Him their breasts to suck or offered something very dear, as a mother offers something to a child?

Texts 37-38: The Supreme Personality of Godhead, Kṛṣṇa, is always situated within the core of the heart of the pure devotee, and He is always offered prayers by such worshipable personalities as Lord Brahmā and Lord Śiva. Because Kṛṣṇa embraced Pūtanā’s body with great pleasure and sucked her breast, although she was a great witch, she attained the position of a mother in the transcendental world and thus achieved the highest perfection. What then is to be said of the cows whose ni***es Kṛṣṇa sucked with great pleasure and who offered their milk very jubilantly with affection exactly like that of a mother?

पूतना सदैव मानव बालकों का रक्त पीने की इच्छा रखती थी, और उसी उद्देश्य से वह श्रीकृष्ण को मारने आई थी; किन्तु क्योंकि उसने भगवान् को अपना स्तनपान कराया, इसलिए उसे परम सिद्धि प्राप्त हुई। फिर उन माताओं के विषय में क्या कहा जा सकता है, जिनके हृदय में श्रीकृष्ण के प्रति स्वाभाविक भक्ति और वात्सल्यभाव था, जिन्होंने उन्हें अपने स्तनों का पान कराया अथवा माता के समान प्रेमपूर्वक उन्हें अपनी अत्यन्त प्रिय वस्तुएँ अर्पित कीं?

श्लोक ३७-३८: भगवान् श्रीकृष्ण, जो परम पुरुषोत्तम भगवान् हैं, सदैव शुद्ध भक्तों के हृदय में विराजमान रहते हैं, और भगवान् ब्रह्मा तथा भगवान् शिव जैसे पूजनीय देवता निरन्तर उनकी स्तुति करते हैं। यद्यपि पूतना एक महान् राक्षसी थी, तथापि भगवान् श्रीकृष्ण ने अत्यन्त प्रसन्नतापूर्वक उसके शरीर का स्पर्श किया और उसका स्तनपान किया; फलस्वरूप उसे दिव्य लोक में माता के पद की प्राप्ति हुई और उसने सर्वोच्च सिद्धि प्राप्त कर ली। फिर उन गौमाताओं के विषय में क्या कहा जा सकता है, जिनके स्तनों का पान श्रीकृष्ण अत्यन्त आनन्दपूर्वक करते थे और जिन्होंने मातृस्नेह से परिपूर्ण होकर हर्षपूर्वक अपना दूध अर्पित किया?
