*“Unfiltered Me” is not just a gathering, it is a sharing circle, inspired by an ancient Latin American practice where communities would come together, sit in a circle, and hold space for one another with honesty and presence. In a world that is constantly connected through screens, overflowing with information and communication, something essential has quietly faded genuine human connection.*

Here, we create a safe and mindful space where you can simply be yourself. Through a few deep, reflective questions about your life, you are invited to pause, think, write, and then , if you feel ready, share.

🫂 It is not about speaking perfectly, but about speaking honestly.
🌿 It is not about being heard by many, but being understood deeply.

✨ The circle follows a few simple yet important guidelines.
Respect the space. Respect each voice. Hold each story with sensitivity.

👶 *Children above 8 years are welcome to join and experience the circle.*

“In the house of lovers, the music never stops, the walls are made of songs, and the floor dances.” — Rumi

As the sun slowly melted into the evening and a soft golden light wrapped itself around us, last Sunday turned into something truly unforgettable. The fading daylight, the gentle glow of lamps, and the unhurried rhythm of the night created a space where everything felt softer, deeper, and beautifully alive. It became one of the most soulful evenings we have ever experienced.

We feel a quiet, profound gratitude to the divine for bringing such wonderful souls together in one moment of shared presence.
Our deepest thanks to Reema , who opened her home and her heart to all of us. Her terrace, so lovingly prepared, felt like a sanctuary. We are equally grateful to her entire family, her son, her partner, her parents, each one adding warmth and care to the space. And a special mention to Muffin, and all her kitties, who added their own gentle charm to the evening.

To our artists, our heartfelt gratitude. Sachin our featured artist, carried the evening with his voice and guitar, holding everyone in a quiet spell. Shamima and Mazhar brought the soul of Kashmir through their folk songs, filling the night with depth and emotion. Dr. Vikash, with his flute, once again created magic that lingered in the air long after each note faded.

As the night unfolded, we found ourselves coming together in a beautiful jam, singing, dancing, sharing food, laughter, and simply being. For a while, the world outside faded, and what remained was connection, presence, and a rare kind of joy.

It was not just an evening, it was a feeling, one that will stay with us for a long time.

Special thanks to Arslan, Rohit, Vishal ji, Imran,Shweta, and Ruchira ji for being the team.

“Part 1: From a small village in Rajasthan to shaping cities and communities—this is Dinesh’s journey. Coming from the Suthar (carpenter) community, losing his father early, and growing up amid hardships, he carved his path through education, from Navodaya Vidyalaya to higher institutions, with sheer determination. Today, he works with impactful organizations, contributing to both urban and underprivileged communities.

In our gatherings, people open their hearts and share their life journeys. Each story is unique, and in these seemingly ordinary lives lies an extraordinariness we often overlook.”

It began long before it had a name. Since 2013, while working in the city, Erum kept meeting people artists, thinkers, and beautiful souls from different walks of life who often said, “we don’t find people to truly converse with.” But she knew otherwise; she kept meeting them, one by one.

When Journey to Roots took shape in 2017, the idea became clearer, and by 2018, Guftugu was born not as an event, but as a feeling.

A soulful gathering where strangers became familiar through conversations, and like-minded people finally found each other. Some came, some stayed, some moved on, but the space remained, holding stories, connections, and the quiet comfort of being understood.
