The Mardaite Shield: A Legacy of Resistance.
Throughout history, the Syriac Maronite people have stood as a pillar against the pressures of erasure. In 1293, facing an existential threat from the Mamluk Sultanate, our ancestors chose defiance over submission.
This is the history that is forbidden to teach in Levant schools.
We are proud to present "The Mardaite Shield: The 1293 Triumph," a short video by the ICAA. That documents our people’s enduring struggle to preserve our Syriac-Maronite identity, culture, and faith against historical attempts at Arabization and Islamization.
This video is based on the foundational research of Dr. Walid Phares (Pluralism in Lebanon), Patriarch Istephanos El Douaihy (Maronite History), and Fr. Petrus Daw (Maronite Military History).
Watch, share, and honor the legacy of those who refused to be conquered.
