Every morning we open our eyes, life quietly hands us one of the greatest gifts we’ll ever receive: another chance.

Another chance to grow.
Another chance to heal.
Another chance to try again.

No matter how heavy yesterday felt or how lost we may have been, a new day reminds us that our story is still being written. That there is still time to change, rebuild, reconnect, and move forward.

So many people throughout history never got the privilege of another sunrise, another deep breath, another opportunity to begin again. The fact that we do is something truly special.

A new day is not something small to “just get through.” It is a gift. A fresh start. A brand new opportunity to keep becoming who we are meant to be.

A huge thank you to for taking the time to highlight the work we’re doing here in the heart of Jerusalem.

Every article, every share, and every conversation helps spread awareness about the realities of mental health, addiction, and homelessness while also shining a light on the power of community, compassion, and human connection.

We’re deeply grateful for the support and for helping more people learn about the work our volunteers are doing each week to make sure nobody feels forgotten. ❤️

Thank you for helping us share the story of Makom LaLev.

Faith isn’t always some giant fearless leap.

Most of the time it looks a lot smaller than that.

It looks like getting up one more morning.
Taking one more step.
Trying again after disappointment.
Believing healing, growth and better days are still possible even when you can’t fully see them yet.

People love talking about the “big leap of faith,” but real faith is usually built through hundreds of small steps taken over and over again.

One small decision to keep moving forward.
One small moment of hope.
One small choice not to give up on yourself.

That’s how we slowly reach better places in life.

You do not need to have the entire path figured out today. You just need enough faith to take the next step anyway.

Gratitude is not about pretending life is perfect or convincing yourself that nothing is missing. We all carry struggles, stress, uncertainty, and things we wish were different.

Real gratitude is simply the ability to pause for a moment and notice how much good is already here, too.

The people who love us.The air in our lungs. The conversations, memories, opportunities, and small everyday moments we often rush past without thinking twice.

Sometimes, we become so focused on what’s missing that we forget to recognize everything that’s already filling our lives right now.

A warm coffee. A quiet morning. A friend checking in. A place to sleep. Another day to keep growing, healing, and becoming.

Gratitude does not erase pain. But it can shift our perspective enough to remind us that even in imperfect seasons of life, there is still so much beauty surrounding us.

There’s something really special that happens out there on the streets.

It’s not just about handing out a sandwich or a warm layer. In these moments, you see something deeper. A hug that lingers a second longer. A smile that feels truly seen. Two people who may have never met before, sharing a real moment of connection, of care, of simple human love.

For someone who spends their days feeling invisible, that moment can mean everything.

This is what Makom LaLev is all about. Not just meeting needs, but reminding every person they matter.

If you feel called to be part of something real like this, come join us. Reach out and volunteer. You never know whose life you might touch… or how much it might change yours too.

We woke up today.

That alone is something not everyone got.

We have air in our lungs, clothes on our backs, water that runs when we turn a handle, food within reach, a place to sit, to rest, to exist.

So much of what we call “normal” isn’t normal at all.
It’s a level of comfort, safety, and stability that people all over the world and throughout history have prayed for, fought for, and dreamed of.

Things we barely notice…
someone else is wishing for right now.

And it doesn’t mean life is perfect.
It doesn’t mean things aren’t hard.

It just means that alongside whatever we’re carrying, there’s also so much already here.

Maybe today is a chance to pause for a second…
and see it.

To notice what we usually rush past.
To appreciate what we’ve slowly labeled as “just part of life.”

Because when we shift what we see,
we start to shift how we feel.

And sometimes that changes everything.

Not every part of the journey comes with clear directions.

There are times in life when we don’t fully know where we’re going, what the bigger picture looks like, or what we’re even working toward. And that uncertainty can feel heavy. It can make us feel stuck before we even begin.

But the truth is, you don’t need to have it all mapped out to keep moving forward.

Sometimes, the most important thing isn’t knowing the destination. It’s having the courage to take the next step anyway. And then the next one after that.

Step by step, things begin to unfold. Clarity comes. Direction builds. And before you even realize it, you’ve made progress you once couldn’t even imagine.

You’ll look back and see how far you’ve come… how much you’ve grown… how many things fell into place along the way.

Don’t let not knowing hold you back.

Just keep going.

May this Shabbat bring a sense of calm, clarity, and renewal to us all.
