Oral health is essential to general health and well-being at every stage of life. However, it has been a neglected component of the public health agenda in the WHO Eastern Mediterranean Region (EMR).
In its recent meeting, the Executive Board of the World Health Organization has reaffirmed its support for the promotion of the oral health agenda. The Health Promotion Programme at Division of Healthier Populations together with the Primary Health Care Programme at the Division of Universal Health Systems at the WHO Regional Office for the Eastern Mediterranean (EMRO) and the Institute of Advanced Dental Sciences and Research, Pakistan have jointly developed an online course on “Promoting Oral Health in Primary Health Care Settings”.
This short course aims to complement efforts to promote oral health in primary health care (PHC) settings in country settings where prioritization of oral health is inadequate.
This webinar aims to introduce the online course as well as generate a debate on oral health promotion within PHC systems in countries.
