Spafford Children's Center- مركز سبافورد للأطفال Thus the Baby Home was founded and this evolved into the only children's hospital in the Old City of Jerusalem serving all of East Jerusalem and the West Bank.

Non-profit organisation providing healthcare, special education remedial teaching , speech therapy, occupational therapy, recreational activities, women empowerment program and social services to disadvantaged children in East Jerusalem area. مركز سبافورد للأطفال هو عبارة عن مؤسسة غير ربحية تقع في البلدة القديمة في مدينة القدس الشرقية منذ أكثر من 100 عام وتهتم بالأطفال وعائلاتهم منذ عام 1925 وتكيف خدماتها لتلبية الاحتياجات المتغيرة للمجتمع الفلسطيني. لديها حاليا برنامج دعم تعليمي قوي ( التعليم المساند ) للأطفال الذين يعانون من صعوبات تعلم أو بطئ تعلم من جيل 5 سنوات حتى جيل 14 سنة ، والذي توسع ليشمل علاج النطق والعلاج الوظيفي ، وخدمات العمل الاجتماعي وتعديل السلوك والإرشاد السلوكي وغيرها من البرامج العلاجية والإبداعية والثقافية أيضا للأطفال وللأهالي .
يعمل مركز سبافورد للأطفال على تقديم العديد من الخدمات التعليمية والعلاجية والسلوكية العديد من الأطفال المهمشين في مدينة القدس من الذهاب إلى المدرسة بانتظام ومكنت من التدخل الفعال في الوقت المناسب كلما واجه الطفل خطرا مفاجئا بالتسرب من المدارس .يقدم مركز سبافورد للأطفال برنامجا متكاملا وداعما للأطفال الذين يعانون من اضطراب ما بعد الصدمة واضطراب فرط الحركة ونقص الانتباه والتركيز . ( ADHD/ADD).
أخذ مركز سبافورد للأطفال على عاتقه منذ سنوات طويلة زمام المبادرة في توفير نهج شامل لصحة الطفل وتمكينه من خلال توفير الدعم النفسي والاجتماعي والتعليمي في القدس الشرقية للأطفال الذين يعيشون في ظل ظروف اجتماعية واقتصادية صعبة

يتبع مركز سبافورد للأطفال في عمله النهج الشامل لصحة الطفل ونموه في وقت مبكر عن طريق تقديم العديد من المحاضرات وورشات العمل للأهالي والامهات بالإضافة الى تقديم الاستشارات مع المختصين والطبيب النفسي المتواجد بالمركز بالاخص للأمهات لمساعدتهن على تحفيز قدرات أطفالهن على التعلم والنمو ببيئة صحية. يقدم المركز أيضا برامج تمكين المرأة وبرامج تمكين الشباب بالإضافة الى النشاطات الثقافية التي تشمتل على
الفن والسايكودراما, الحاسوب, الباليه والموسيقى..

1925, Bertha Spafford took a baby boy in need of care into her home in the Old City of Jerusalem. After the war in 1967, due to funding restraints and changing needs, the hospital became the Spafford Children's Center. It was decided it could best meet the needs of local people by focusing on preventative medicine, offering a medical clinic, an ante-natal clinic, and an infant welfare department for weighing and vaccinations. The SCC has been and continues to be challenged by the disruptive political situation in the area, and it aims to adjust it's services according to the needs of the people and the available funds. Although current needs are different to those when the Spafford family arrived in Jerusalem, the moving spirit based on Christian values, is still the same. Help is given to anyone in need, regardless of race, religion or cultural background. The staff caring for the patients also come from different backgrounds and work harmoniously together. 🎭 التعلّم من خلال السيكودراما ومسرح الدمى

ضمن فعاليات مركز سبافورد للأطفال، استضفنا مجموعة من 30 طالبًا من مدرسة رياض الأقصى في القدس، من الفئة العمرية 7–10 سنوات، للمشاركة في فعاليات تفاعلية باستخدام السيكودراما ومسرح الدمى.

قدّم مدرب السيكودراما يزن غريب مجموعة من السكتشات المسرحية الهادفة، والتي تناولت رسائل تربوية واجتماعية مهمة، أبرزها التنمر بين الطلاب، احترام الآخرين، وفهم الحدود الآمنة في التعامل بين الأطفال وبين الأطفال والكبار.

ومن خلال الدمى والمواقف التفاعلية، أتيحت للأطفال مساحة ممتعة وآمنة للتعبير والمشاركة والتفكير في كيفية التعامل مع المواقف المختلفة في حياتهم اليومية.

وقد لمسنا تفاعلًا إيجابيًا وأثرًا واضحًا لدى الطلاب، مما يؤكد أهمية استخدام الفن والسيكودراما كأدوات داعمة للتوعية والتعلّم وتعزيز المهارات الاجتماعية لدى الأطفال. 💛

🎭 Learning Through Psychodrama and Puppet Theatre

As part of Spafford Children’s Center’s psychosocial activities, we welcomed 30 students from Riyad Al-Aqsa School in Jerusalem, aged 7–10, for an engaging and interactive psychodrama session.

Led by psychodrama trainer Yazan Gharib, the children participated in a series of meaningful theatrical sketches using puppet theatre to explore important topics such as bullying among students, respect for others, and understanding safe and appropriate boundaries between children and adults.

Through storytelling, puppetry, and interactive activities, the children were encouraged to express themselves, reflect on everyday situations, and learn positive ways of communicating and interacting with others.

The sessions had a very positive impact, with wonderful engagement and enthusiastic responses from the students. 💛

At SCC, we believe in the power of creative approaches such as psychodrama to promote children’s emotional well-being, social awareness, and safer relationships.
