Since 1993, the Gush Etzion Foundation has worked to support and strengthen Gush Etzion and its residents while raising public awareness about the history and heritage of the region. An independent, non-profit organization, the Foundation approaches donors in Israel and overseas, keeping them updated about ongoing needs and new initiatives in the area. All contributions to the organization are imm

ediately transferred to projects including:

Providing financial aid and holiday food packages for needy families
Funding and furnishing schools and other educational projects
Creating and equipping playgrounds and parks
Purchasing and maintaining rescue teams and security equipment
Support of our IDF soldiers in the region
Financing Gush Etzion heritage projects
Youth projects

On Yom HaZikaron, Memorial Day for the Fallen Soldiers of Israel and Victims of Terrorism, Israel stands still in sacred silence.

We remember our fallen soldiers and the victims of terror, precious lives taken while defending our people and simply living in our land. We remember lives of courage and innocence, those who stood to defend our people, and those taken simply for living in our land. Each one leaves behind a family, a story, a light that will never be replaced.
In Gush Etzion, their memory lives in every hill and vineyard, shaping our daily lives and our sense of purpose. We stand with the bereaved families, united in remembrance and responsibility.

On Yom HaShoah, we remember and we build.

Today, the promise of "Never Again" carries a deeper weight. We honor the six million souls lost and embrace the survivors of Gush Etzion. Their resilience is our inspiration as we face modern challenges to our security and our settlements.

Facing those who seek to destroy us, we answer with strength: by reinforcing our communities, supporting our defenders, and ensuring that the torch of Jewish life continues to burn brightly on these hills.

The Gush Etzion Foundation mourns the untimely passing of our dear friend and former CEO, Gabi Harow z”l who left a lasting and tangible mark on Gush Etzion and far beyond it.

Gabi loved the land of Gush Etzion and its people, and devoted himself to strengthening its communities. He served Gush Etzion with deep commitment as CEO of the Gush Etzion Foundation, as head of the local council of Ibei HaNachal, and as a devoted member of Nokdim’s local council. Gabi led with heart, purpose, and passion.

During the war, Gabi worked tirelessly to support the residents of Gush Etzion, and to respond to urgent needs of soldiers and communities across Israel. He mobilized resources, coordinated support, and ensured that help reached those in need.

Most recently, as Vice President for Resource Development and External Affairs at Ariel University, Gabi continued to build bridges that strengthened Jewish life and helped shape Israel’s future.

Gabi’s dedication will continue to shape Gush Etzion for years to come.

We extend our deepest condolences to his beloved wife, Atara, his four children, and the entire Harow and Spero families. Gabi was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed.

May his memory be a blessing.

May his family be comforted among the mourners of Zion and Jerusalem.

And may we honor Gabi’s legacy by continuing the work he cared about so deeply.
