The Demolition of Tel Arad–Al-Nabari Is the Demolition of Beauty

For years, Sidreh has worked alongside the remarkable women of this village—women who cultivated the land, brought water to their community, hosted emergency support rooms, and dedicated themselves to improving life for future generations. Despite being denied basic services, they raised families, built strong communities, and nurtured doctors, teachers, nurses, and engineers who now serve their people.

Their homes were not built with concrete alone, but with resilience, knowledge, dignity, and a deep connection to the land.

Today, these homes are being torn down, leaving women, children, and families without shelter. Their only “offense” is living on their ancestral land.

The demolition of homes is an assault on human dignity. Destroying people’s homes without providing just and meaningful alternatives is a profound humanitarian violation.

We stand with Tel Arad–Al-Nabari. We stand with its women, children, and families, and with their right to live in safety, dignity, and security on their land.

We are proud to share that Raya Cooperative was selected to be presented at the Ministry of Agriculture conference, “planting the Future ““זורעות את העתיד – נשים מובילות בחקלאות ישראל”.

It was a pleasure to take part in this important event and represent the inspiring work of Bedouin women in agriculture. As the first women’s agricultural cooperative in the Naqab, Raya Cooperative is honored to share our experience and vision for strengthening women’s leadership and sustainable agriculture.

שמחנו לקחת חלק בכנס חשוב זה ולייצג את פועלן מעורר ההשראה של נשים בדואיות בתחום החקלאות. כקואופרטיב החקלאי הראשון של נשים בנגב, ראיה גאה לשתף את הניסיון והחזון שלה לקידום מנהיגות נשית וחקלאות מקיימת.

Over the past year, our people in Al-Ser village have faced an escalation in discriminatory home demolition policies in the Naqab. Recently, not even the temporary tents provided to support families during this critical period were spared from demolition.

Standing with our people in Al-Ser village is not just about slogans or symbolic moments — it is a human responsibility that requires persistence and a firm commitment to their right to live with dignity in their homes and on their land. The continuous demolitions, without offering real solutions and leaving women and children without shelter, constitute a clear violation of human rights.

Let our solidarity with the people of Al-Ser continue, and let us support their committees with whatever we can, no matter how little, to say: we are here beside you in all circumstances.

على مدار العام الماضي، يواجه أهلنا في قرية السر تصعيدًا في السياسات العنصرية لهدم البيوت في النقب. ولم تسلم مؤخرًا حتى الخيام المؤقتة التي تم توفيرها للأهالي لمساعدتهم ومساندتهم خلال هذه الفترة الحرجة.

إن الوقوف إلى جانب أهلنا في قرية السر ليس مجرد شعارات أو لقطات عابرة، بل هو واجب إنساني يتطلب الاستمرار والإصرار على حق أهلنا في العيش بكرامة على أرضهم وفي بيوتهم. فالهدم المستمر، دون تقديم حلول حقيقية، وترك النساء والأطفال بلا مأوى، يُعد انتهاكًا واضحًا لحقوق الإنسان.

فلنجعل وقفتنا إلى جانب أهلنا في قرية السر مستمرة، ولنقف لجانهم حتى بأقل ما نملك، لنقول لهم: نحن هنا إلى جانبكم في كل الظروف.

‏As part of a wonderful initiative that brought together community volunteer work, support for families, and food rescue efforts, Sidreh, in cooperation with our friends and partners at Basia Kitchen and Al-Fura Elementary School, supervised the distribution of more than 1,000 kilograms of vegetables.
Special thanks to Basia for this inspiring initiative, and to Al-Fura Elementary School and its principal for their great cooperation and support.

In the midst of hardship and uncertainty, no one should have to face this war alone. We remain committed to reaching Bedouin women who are too often forgotten or unseen، ensuring they are supported, heard, and not left behind.

بكلِّ ألمٍ عميق، فقد فرضت علينا السنواتُ الأخيرةُ الانتقالَ من العمل على تمكين المرأة وتعزيز مكانتها المجتمعية إلى العمل على ضمان بقائها آمنةً على قيد الحياة. فقد باتت أكبرُ أمانينا وأسمى تطلعاتنا أن تبقى نساؤنا على قيد الحياة آمناتٍ مطمئنات.

ويبقى السؤال : كيف بالامكان الاحتفال باليوم العالمي للمرأة، ولا نزال نعجز عن إحصاء عدد ضحايا النساء خلال العامين الأخيرين؟ فقد وقعت كثيراتٌ منهن ضحايا لجرائم القتل والغدر على أيدي ذويهن، كما سقطت أعدادٌ كبيرة ضحايا لحروبٍ لا نهاية لها، خلّفت وراءها أسماءً لن تعود بيننا بعد اليوم، وأبقت بيننا الثكالى والأرامل، ومن معهنّ ممن يحملن دموعًا لم تجف بعد، وآلامًا وجروحًا نفسيةً قد لا تندمل أبد الدهر.

وبهذا، فإننا وفي هذا اليوم العالمي من هذا العام، لن نقدم اي قول سوى أن نعبّر عن تقديرنا العميق لجميع نساء الأرض الصامدات في وجه شتّى أصناف القهر والمعاناة، ولعزيمتهنّ التي لم ولن تنكسر رغم كل ما يحيط بهنّ من ظلمٍ وألم واضطهاد.

With profound pain, the recent years have compelled us to shift from working to empower women and strengthen their place in society to working simply to ensure that they remain alive and safe. Our greatest hope and highest aspiration has become that our women remain alive, secure, and reassured.
The question therefore remains: how is it possible to celebrate International Women’s Day while we are still unable to count the number of female victims over the past two years? Many of them have fallen victim to murder and treachery at the hands of their own relatives, while large numbers have also perished in endless wars that have left behind names that will never return among us again. What remains among us are the bereaved mothers and the widows, along with others who carry tears that have not yet dried, and psychological pain and wounds that may never heal for the rest of their lives.
Thus, on this International Day this year, we offer no statement other than to express our deep appreciation for all the women of the world who stand resilient in the face of the many forms of oppression and suffering, and for their determination which has not, and will not, be broken despite all the injustice, pain, and persecution that surround them.
