Our journey of giving unfolds through two main events each year: the exhilarating VHI Women's Mini-Marathon and the heartwarming Christmas Charity Fundraiser. Happy 1st of September, everyone! The wait is over—our big month of celebration is officially live! 🥳🐕

September 25th marks International Schnauzer Day, but one day is never enough for these incredible, bearded personalities. For the entire month, we are taking over to raise awareness and vital funds for Miniature Schnauzer Rescue Ireland (MSRI)!

✨ A Paws-itively Important September Update! ✨
We know, we know... we are completely skipping past August! 🏝️ Our committee is taking a quick breath, but we are so excited about our plans for the next few months that we couldn’t wait any longer to share them with you.

We want to get our September plans directly into your diary right now so we can ensure we have a massive turnout and make a huge impact.

September 25th is officially International Schnauzer Day—created to honour this beloved breed’s iconic beards, brilliant intelligence, and fiercely loyal personalities.

But here at MSFG, we know that just one single day is simply not enough to honour the dogs that give us so much... they need a full month of celebration! 🎉🐶

Episode 1 – The Journey Begins

Every calendar starts with an idea......

This weekend, the journey to our 2027 Miniature Schnauzer Fundraising Group - MSFG / Miniature Schnauzer Rescue Ireland (MSRI) Charity Calendar officially began as some of this year's calendar stars arrived in Dublin for their professional photoshoots.

This is Phase One of a three-phase project that will eventually see the finished calendars printed and available to purchase later this year, with proceeds supporting the incredible work of MSRI

A huge thank you goes to Jenny McCarthy and the team at Photosbyjen who very generously provided their beautiful studio free of charge, and to Dean McCarthy Pet Photography - https://www.instagram.com/deanmccarthypetphotography who donated his time, expertise and endless patience to capture every schnauzer's unique personality.

We're also incredibly grateful to every owner who travelled from across Ireland to be part of this special weekend.

Your enthusiasm, support and community spirit are what make the Miniature Schnauzer family so unique.

Over the coming weeks, The Calendar Chronicles will take you behind the scenes of the entire journey, from photoshoots and editing to design, printing and finally, the launch of the 2027 calendar.

🧇 🐾 THURSDAY... WAFFLE?! A DAY LATE BUT BETTER LATER THAN NEVER! 🐾 🧇
Happy... wait, what day is it? 🤔

Okay, let’s be completely honest with the pack—our calendar-checking Schnauzer bosses clearly fell asleep on the job yesterday because today is actually Thursday! But listen, a good mid-week waffle is far too important to skip just because we are 24 hours late to the party. Consider this a "Thursday Waffle with a Wednesday attitude"! 😉☕️🐕

Grab a cuppa and let’s catch up on what’s happening behind the scenes at MSFG headquarters. A massive hello to all our long-time supporters and a huge welcome to the many new faces who have joined the pack recently!

📋 What’s on the Horizon?
We are officially in full "Building Our Pack" planning mode for our upcoming seasonal pillars! If you haven't seen our annual roadmap yet, here is a quick look at what we are brewing up:

🗺️ Location Scouting: We are actively reviewing your suggestions and looking into alternating walk locations so we can bring the beards to as many parts of the country as possible!

💻 Virtual Pack Preparation: We are setting up the framework so that our brilliant virtual walkers get the full community experience, no matter where they are trekking from.

🇸🇪 The Big September Countdown: Plans are already in motion to make The National Schnauzer Day Celebration (Sunday, September 27th) our biggest and most memorable get-together yet!

🌲 The Festive Furry Family Walk (December): And yes, the Santa hats will be making a return! We are already brainstorming how to wrap up the year with the ultimate, cozy winter walk to support MSRI. 🧑‍🎄🐾

✨ 🐾 THANKFUL TUESDAY: WHAT AN EPIC FIRST MINI SCHNAUZERTHON! 🐾 ✨
Hi everyone! Now that the paws have rested and the humans have finally caught their breath, the MSFG committee (under strict supervision from our furry bosses, of course!) wants to look back on what was an absolutely unforgettable Sunday.

For our very first Mini Schnauzerthon, we are completely blown away! 🤯❤️

🌟 A Day to Remember
We had a spectacular turnout on the day at Emo Park, packed with the most fabulous, waggy-tailed Schnauzers and their wonderful families. 🌳☀️

While seeing the pack together was magical, what truly touched our hearts was the incredible spirit of the day:

Vital Funds Raised: You dug deep to support Miniature Schnauzer Rescue Ireland (MSRI), helping to cover life-saving vet bills and care.

Raising Awareness: So many of you stopped to ask fantastic questions about what the rescue does behind the scenes and how you can get involved.

Pure Community Spirit: Most importantly, everyone came together, shared stories, laughed, and made it a genuinely lovely, positive day out for humans and hounds alike.

☘️🐾🫂 SCHNAUZERTHON 2026 – COMMUNITY, COMPANIONSHIP & A CAUSE THAT MATTERS 🫂🐾☘️

What a fantastic day we had at Emo Court & Park yesterday as members of the Miniature Schnauzer Fundraising Group - MSFG came together for Ireland's first-ever Schnauzerthon.

It was far more than just a walk.

It was a celebration of friendship, community, our beloved bearded companions and the incredible work carried out every day by Miniature Schnauzer Rescue Ireland (MSRI).

Over the years, MSRI has given countless Miniature Schnauzers a second chance at life. Many arrive from difficult backgrounds, including some who merely need rehoming. Through the dedication of volunteers, foster families and supporters, these wonderful dogs are given the opportunity to find the loving homes they deserve.

While many of us gathered in Emo Court, supporters from around Ireland took part in their own walks and fundraising activities, proving once again that this community stretches far beyond any one location.

HUGE congratulations to Deirdre O'Meara and Whitren for leading the way at VHI Mini Marathon in Dublin yesterday in memory of little Annie Schnauzer 🐾🫂

Every euro raised by the Miniature Schnauzer Fundraising Group goes directly towards supporting the work of MSRI and helping more schnauzers receive the care, treatment and opportunities they need.

To everyone who attended, donated, shared posts, walked locally or simply supported us from afar – thank you.

Together, we are building something special.
