Waterford City and County Council, in partnership with the Waterford Outdoor Recreation Committee, is preparing a report on improving accessibility at designated beaches and coastal access points across the county.

The study will help shape future improvements for walking, open water swimming and water sports, while protecting Waterford's unique coastal environment. It is funded through the Outdoor Recreation Infrastructure Scheme (ORIS) 2024/2025.

If you're part of a recreational user group, club, community organisation, activity provider, are a landowner, or have an interest in outdoor recreation, we'd like to hear from you.

Following a change in wind direction, smoke from the ongoing fire in Slievenamon in Co Tipperary now may affect areas of Waterford.

People with underlying respiratory conditions are advised to take extra precautions during this time.

People should seek medical help if they have difficulty breathing, have chest pain or have severe wheeze or worsening asthma symptoms.

Thanks so much to everyone who came out for our annual Family Funday yesterday; another brilliant day or fun and games was had by all!
