Our society held its annual Christmas Lunch in the Royal St George Yacht club in Dun Laoghaire with over sixty participants including H.E. The Ambassador of Greece and his wife. We had singing by Joanne Harding, soprano, and Greek carols led by Dr Panos Loumakis and accompanied by musical instruments from the Greek school.

Irish Hellenic Society

Established in 1962, the Irish Hellenic Society promotes social gatherings of an informative nature for anyone with an interest in Hellenic and Irish influenced cultures and peoples, both ancient and modern.

The objectives of the Society are to develop social and cultural relations between the Irish and the Greeks and to promote the mutual understanding of Greek and Irish culture through lectures and other events.

Meetings take place on Wednesdays towards the middle of each month at 7.30pm in the United Arts Club, 3 Upper Fitzwilliam Street, Dublin 2 from October to May. Typically, they have an illustrated talk, and discussion, followed by an informal chat in the congenial surroundings of the United Arts Club bar.
